The Feb 10th Patch broke the Emu.

You need to wait until new binaries are released that allow you to play again.

There are 2 posts about the exact same thing here. If you read the other post about patching..... should be right below this one, it says that the eta is basically when it's done. It might take a little while because there was a new expansion added. If you keep two emu folders, you can patch one and if it breaks, then you know not to patch the other. Sorry, but there's no telling when it will work again...

I would suggest you don't ask that, because I'll bet by the end of the week at least 20 people have asked.

It will be done when it's done, not before. Will only be released when it's working, not before. Will be released on CVS first for testing. Once the Devs are sure it works with latest patch it will be released as binaries avaliable off SourceForge.

Could be anything from a few days to a month+. All depends on how much the patch changed, and how fast the devs work on it.

Monrezz i bet it will be more then 20. just by looking at the members list seems we get about 100 people a day..and about 1/2 of them dont know how to search-read..

Well it can be hard to find what you are looking for when you dont realy know whats Wrong so i guess you can have some point there.... since when you are not a Geek and dont speak there language its can be like an American should know when i say Hvad fanden er i for nogle sinker!!!

Chaos, when I first came here I knew hardly anything about forums or computers, and yet I managed to get eqemu and a local server running in under 2 hours just by browsing the forums and guides. Anyone can do it, not that difficult, there are no excuses.

Common sense would tell you that tuturials and how to's forum would probably help you ... hmmm set up EqEmu or a server... Also common sense would lead a person to read the News forum, to find out anything that they may not know (read, current events) And, BOTH of those forums tell you DONT patch unless told to.... Sorry but like Ademonde said I DO feel badly for the people that patched. I really do, however, the posters that help out with questions have said the same thing over and over and over still to get the same question... If you would but read 4 or 5 posts you would probably find the answer to your question, or at least know where to look... Hell, I have posted about 3 or 4 times in a help thread, in the last week or so, "DONT patch on or after the 10th, because it might break the emu"....

it dont bug me that i cant get in right away. i kinda figured it was the prob to begin with if you read the other post about this.
i usually can get stuff worked out if i try at it , what really gets me
is all the noobs bashing on other noobs for asking questions here
i have to admit other then patching first it was to easy to get to the server select screen tho but thats as far as i made it ,
the instructions i seen for this came from a different site same instructions merth has here

so i guess i cant get in till its fixed so here ill bash on me for ya

LOL well i got extensive knowledge with computers, and it took me 2mins to get EQEmu working without even knowing if i had to download a program or edit it. No joke 2 mins of quick reading and i got it. I even figured out how to download the expansions i didnt have, i searched on here and no one knew how, they just said "how you come about those files is up to you" its so easy tho, you just select that you have the expansion and you download all the files for it anyway. I helped people with the crashing every 5mins to desktop with that error message that couldnt be resolved. This problem can be resolved if you dont have system restore, it will just require someone to figure out what files were downloaded for GoD patch, and delete them and put the old files back. Simple. if anyone is willing to do that kudos to you if not we'll we will have to sit tight

I just did this with one of my machines. I patched yeturday (to get the map files) only to find that it messed up the login process (client now sends a 0x0254 opcode or something).

Anyway I replaced the eqgame.exe and UI (uifiles??) directory. Both of those replacements came from a computer that was patched up excluding this latest patch. I played using that install for about two hours so I am pretty sure it will work well.

As a side benefit you get to see the new loading screen from GoD and still play EqEmu :D

I'm glad that worked for you... If you already have the files somewhere else, you're in luck. Just as a heads up though, if you don't have them and you need them, don't ask for them here. That's asking for warez and is a bannable offence. I just want to give anyone who just started and patched a heads up before they started asking for them. Good luck....

I understand not just English people work on the project, but 99% of all support is in English. If they come here, on an English forum, for an English project, they are expected to post in English - unless someone has offered to help in their language. Just because they don't speak the language doesn't mean they have an excuse to ask questions that have been asked before - if they have any common sense they would understand what they were trying to say and recognise it had already been said.

No-one is saying they are dumb because they don't understand, but if they used of the the many free translators avaliable on the web it would be easier to help.
