Does your handle on these boards mean something to you?
 

I was just wondering about handles on these boards.. Did you pick your handle from something important to you or that has some meaning? Or, did you just see a cool name and decide,

"That is who I'll be."

Or, did you just think of some name just to get access to your account?

I picked mine from a piece of literature. It is from the "Thomas Covenant" series written by Stephen R. Donaldson. Samandhi Reaver was one of the bad guys in the stories. Not un-like the ring-wraiths in Lord of the Rings. Dont ask me why I picked a bad guy to be my handle, because I dont think that it was either a good or bad character choice, just liked the name, and it has stuck to me hehe.

How about you? Do you have a story behind why you chose your name? Let me know. I have seen a lot of different names and some seem like there is more meaning than just picking some name. But others, one can tell that it was just a formality to getting access to post on this board (ie.... poops7). Dont really want to know about that one :)

Maybe a week or so before I registered, I was trying to download a map off of PlanetQuake and had to go through FilePlanet. I used the name generator and it stuck.

Ooooold nick. I think I made it back in '96 when I created my first mail account =) Means nothing to me or about me though :? Just like the word executor and I had to add 3000 because all other logins were occupied.

What a great series of books... I picked up Lord Fouls Bane to reread it a year ago or so and never did get all the way through it...

No importance to my name, but when I signed up I did not expect to be that active on the boards.... so I was wrong :shock:

The _005 has to do with mob names getting numbers added if there are more than 1 After all there are tons of lurkers on the message board! And lastly 5 because of the TV show B5 and that was where I remember hearing lurker used to describe the people hiding out in the shadows.

Way too much thought went into my name :P

You HAVE read the 2nd chronicles, yes? Didnt like them QUITE as much as I liked the first chronicles, but still VERY much worth reading.

I choosed Muuss cause it was the name of my main char on live, and i choosed it at that time because i knew the guildies woud easily make jokes about it, hehe :lol:

A mongrel is a mix of two dog races (also called "bastard", I think?). Well, my RL surname sounds very similar to a german swear word for dogs, so that's where my nick comes from, hehe.

My name comes from years ago.... I have a twin brother who was always a little bit bigger than me, so, some of our friends would call me Little Russ... I just shortened it to LTLRUSS. Russ is an abbreviated form of my last name. Bet no one can guess what it is. :)

Well when i was young i came up with the nick k3n when i played quake but that was before all that barbie and ken shit.

well i used to go by the name CarDboArD all the time. I got sick of the dumb name and was more into the "mysterious evil necromancer unworldly" stuff, so i picked the name Ethereal which is pretty much Unworldly, celestial, or surreal. I always get called a hacker in CS so I figured Ethereal would fit. And i can use Ether for short, i liked that since its used as mana in some games :D

off topic: Khuong (sorry if i spelled it wrong, i tried to remember, its late, didnt write it down, and im too lazy to look again) anyway, did you make that sig yourself? it looks AWESOME, i keep trying to make good sigs and i have yet to make one as cool as that. I love it, nice work if you did that yourself.

I was cleaning my rifle while creating my account, I needed a handle, and there was the bottle of Militec1 weapons lube. I didn't get an error that there was another, so I used it.

I like sushi, need I say more.
