EQEMu Sued by SOE

As of this morning several dev team members including dev/n00b/, Rogean, Baron-Sprite, LethalEncounter, kathgar, image, and khuong, have been served by Sony Online Entertainment for DMCA violations. Court date and if EQEMu will remain in operation is unknown.

nice one! was thinking of getting friends by going into work w/ a dud grenade and telling everyone "I TOLD you not to laugh at me! HAHAHAHAHA" but realized I could go to prision for that....grrrrr. well, I just settled for stealing a DVD that someone brought to work (they aren't allowed to watch DVDs at work, I'm in the military) and give it back to him later. Sounds corny, but check the price for replacing a DVD through NetFlix..any ideas as to what I can do to freak out co-workers?

1. Go to work butt naked and say, April Fools!

2. Go to work wearing a shirt supporting osama.

3. Shoot people with an AK-47, and then say april fools.

4. Run around your military base screaming like a maniac with a rifle in your hand.

5. Go to work with a live gernade and say, I TOLD YOU NOT TO LAUGH AT ME! AAAHHHHH!!! "After done yelling, pull the pin and throw it high enough in the air where it blows up before it hits the ground, if you cant throw it that high your screwed but its a good one if you can do it right"...

6. Shoot yourself in the head

Just refer to the support that is so well described on the webpage of sony, and then quote anyone who have ever posted on this board or any other board that their description of the service offered is a fake and nothing else. I dont think anyone have ever been fully satisfyed with the support sony/verant stands for. And becouse of that you felt so much guilt and compation for the people who pays an huge amount of pp's monthly, that you started your own emulator to be more likely the offer than sony/verant were.

And that you have gained alot of positive respond from the players.

You got me too but I got it better from Howard Stern when he was supposedly pulled from the air an replace by Coon and Lopez (Fun without the filth) I was so gullable I even went to work and was bitchin up a storm. Then later in the day I rralized it was a joke when I turned on the radio during lunch and there he was. I felt like such an ass. On a serious note, what follows is why SOE's EULA clause barring users from playing on EQEmu isn't worth the bits it consumes. Allow me to cite UNITED STATES FEDERAL LAW:

Title 15 covers antitrust law, and this is part of the Clayton Act of 1914. It's also the reason why Ford can't bar me from putting Autolite spark plugs in my Explorer: our lawmakers realized a long time ago that such restraint of trade is harmful to capitalist economies and made the practice illegal. As for the DMCA, I've read it several times, and there's no need to fret IMHO. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm not an ignorant yokel, either--I'm capable of reading and understanding the law. I'd actually like to see some case law judgments concerning the above statute: if there's anyone on the forum who has access to such information I'd appreciate if you could post it for our edification. Anyhow, regarding the operative EULA clause, as far as I'm concerned the legal folks at SOE can stuff it in a well-known orifice--the clause is not only illegal, but blatantly so.

i was wondering what happend O.o. meh gotta hate ear infections i get em all the time, and usualy when i get em i get em uber bad.
