Xabob was nice enough to give me a free account to WoW. Here's my new desktop, ill post screenshots of the game once my client download is done recieving files.

Tell me how it is. I'm into Blizzard's other ventures but this is obviously quite different. :D

I don't like the graphic approach Blizzard's been taking with thier titles lately - too cartoony, like I left a box of crayons in a hot car. WoW, W3, SC:Ghost... I much more prefer EQ2's near-realistic modeling/textures. Very hot!

Yeah, that one was problem I had with their stuff :( . I'm very glad that Sony isn't being sucked into anime type garbage.

All WoW beta accounts are going to be deleted as of Thursday :cry:

How the heck do you have so few desktop icons? I have like 25 lol.

See the little locked folder icon, it says Programs on it... well thats where I keep all my icons at so that the desktop isnt so messy.

haha i was gonna post about how gay his desktop was and tell him about all the junk running in his sys tray.. and how he has hide inactive icons on so who knows how much more crap he has running. but if i posted that as the first response of the thread ppl would of REALLy thought i was a dick then.

His desktop blows? First off, most people on here have to be running a MySQL db server (which is one of his items) and also, not even dealing with active programs, what version of windows do you use? Once I get home I'll take a screenshot of mine and show you.

I dont remember the exact name of it, but its something like window blinds or wincustimize. It makes your desktop look different, cooler, whatever.

well i did this temporary banner since i banned nervous from ventrilo, this is the whiplash effect of why you dont sing on ventrilo, ill go back to the darkone banner in like a week

and this is what i would change if it was my comp: first id get rid of quicktime tray icon or maybe just uninstall it and use an old version cause that POS is so bad now i consider it spyware. then id unintall itunes unless i had an ipod. then id turn off the volume control tray icon. then the nvidia tray icon. (is it the one you cant turn off? i hate that one.. i used to use those drivers too lol) then i would turn off that thing to the right of itunes thus leaving me with a nice clean sys tray only showing the things im using at the time (which would be itunes, the mysql thing, and trillian.)

and i think we should all post what our c:\ looks like

I will in a second, but why is the processes tab necessary. I'm not in a crunch for ram or computing power so I don't care about what I'm running for the most part

its just fun to have a clean comp is all hehe. and a clean comp means turning off all gayware (stuff that boots up with windows and runs in the background for no reason after you install it) (yeah i just made that word up)

besides explorer.exe, rundll32, tskmgr, (the ony 3 you need running) and btdownloadgui and mysql i dont know what any of that other stuff is. i would close that junk cause i dont like exe's i dont kno what do runnin. anyway heres my guest computer, check out the clean windows registry mmm wish my main was still like that.

I use TweakXP Pro 4 rather than their powertoys. Well, actually the "Open Command Window Here" one is pretty nice. Anyways, the hp***** stuff is for my printer. Constantly stays on for some stupid reason. I'll remove it from msconfig at some point here.

spike your comp is a disaster, youve been downloading porn way to much. WTF is all that stuff in your process's. kill it dude. you can end everything but task mangeger, then click file<run<explorer and you can start fresh.. well thats what i would do if i wanted to run WoW. also run<msconfig and goto startup and disable all and next time u boot up it should stop a good num of that shit from loading

I can play WoW just fine. I posted earlier my account is going to be deleted Thursday because they dont want the beta accounts when the game is released in stores.

k.. I usually have a new desktop picture every month or so (Almost all are related to scenery, sunsets, etc.. I have a collection at Http://www.rogean.com/images/backgrounds/ ).

Also, mIRC is usually the first program 95% of the time, however It closed for some reason and I had to reopen it today. :)

Also, Rogean, even with how much I HATE apple you should get iTunes, it's so much better than Winamp :-)

I use Winamp 2.91, and It has everything I need, So why would I switch to a different player?

winamp = better 4 me

Winamp has an absurdly low requirement for running but Itunes, like winamp minimizes to the system tray and also looks a LOT better and also the way it rips/burns cds and organizes songs.

mrea the only reason you use itunes is because it installs itself when you download quicktime and takes over all your file types and you probly didnt know any better to uninstall it

Actually, Itunes has become a nice piece of software. I know of 2 old Nullsoft guys working on it and hope to surpass Winamp one day. I run Itunes on my Macs here and I love it. The PC version still needs some work, but I am sure in some time it will become my choice MP3 player over Winamp.

I, I did it intentionally because of a MAC lover friend told me it was better, and originally I told him I would never use it regularly, but now I love it.

Well, I downloaded winamp for 1 reason and 1 reason only. For my game jk2, about 1 in a half years ago, a guy made a kill tracker that keeps track of your wins, loses, ties, and also plays music, but you need winamp to be able to play music on it, so thats why. Plus ITunes I think might be kinda slow, im not sure.

but without winamp installed you cant listen to this !

Spike, I agree about iTunes being slow, but they must have done something to the ram usage and all that as it runs a helluva lot better than it used to. No delay between double-click and playing a song.
