More login help.

I've installed Titanium and done everything the wikki says to do before playing. When I type in my server information it says "A connection to the server could not be reached. Please check your internet connection to make sure you are online."

I've searched threads and no one seems to be having the exact same problem I do. Thanks for any help.

Did you check your config files ?

- loginserver.ini
- eqemu_config.xml
- eqhosts.txt

More easily did you follow this => http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...=ws70845mysql5

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 01:12 AM

I've changed the eqhost.txt but I haven't changed anything with the other 2. I dont see loginserver.ini in my EQ folder.

Magefeu 09-26-2006 01:14 AM

Well, are you planing to play or to host a local server and play ?

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 01:15 AM

i just simply want to play

Magefeu 09-26-2006 01:24 AM

What server are you trying to join ?

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 01:25 AM

I cant even get to a point where there are a list of servers. It says login, I put in my EQEmu login info. Then it gives me the error about no internet connection.

Magefeu 09-26-2006 01:30 AM

If you only want to play, you don't need an eqemu server. This mean that you just need to change your eqhosts.txt to the settings of the server you wish to join.

then follow only what's written in the following link

http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide

If you want to play on a personnal server then you need to install an eqemu server and do a complete configuration. Then you need this

http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...=ws70845mysql5

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 01:44 AM

I've changed the EQhosts.txt to
[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998

Created usernames. I've changed the shortcut. I've done everything on that page. And yet it still gives me the Problem logging into server, please make sure you have a connection to the internet. I've even uninstalled reinstalled EQ Titan. This is frustrating.

Magefeu 09-26-2006 01:47 AM

It should work. The only thing that might be wrong are your firewall settings.

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 01:51 AM

I have disabled the firewall on my computer. Could there be a problem with the router? Would that be keeping me from just logging in?

Magefeu 09-26-2006 01:57 AM

Server being down or your router not forwarding the request... no clue... I've always been playing on minilogin servers

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 01:59 AM

What's the difference? Or is a minilogin server someone you know. Just wondering because I was desperate to play the game, but am at this point so frustrated I want to forget it altogether.

Magefeu 09-26-2006 02:03 AM

A minilogin server is a personnal server. I mean a server that is running on the same computer that the game. Usualy it's used to play alone or for testing purposes.

The normal server are "real" servers that can host many players. You will need their address if you want to join them. You should look in the top sections of the forum to see the servers that are currently available for connection.

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 02:09 AM

Do I use something other than my Login name for eqemulator.net when i first hit login...when it asks for Station Username and Station Login, is that when I put in my username and password. Or am I doing something wrong here?

Bishop4351 09-26-2006 02:40 AM

You would set that up in your user area of this forum. You can set up to 3 accounts.

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 02:44 AM

I have 2 accounts set up. It still gives me a connection error.

I have never even made it to the character set up screen.

Aramid 09-26-2006 03:19 AM

You definitly KNOW that this computer has an internet connection, as in your on it now posting here?

Post the properties of the ICON that you are clicking on to run EQ particularly, the Target and the Start in lines.

Is this version of EQ (The Titanium one) the ONLY version you have installed on the computer?

AmerikanHaberdasher 09-26-2006 05:50 AM

Ok here are the properties.

Target:
"C:/ProgramFiles/Sony/Everquest/eqgame.exe" patchme

Start in :
"C:/ProgramFiles/Sony/Everquest"

This is also the only version of Everquest I have on my computer.

Kendo84 06-29-2010 11:44 PM

Im having the same problem.

Kendo84 06-29-2010 11:44 PM

can anyone help :(

Autotune 07-07-2010 06:00 PM

having the same problem with a vista computer.

Game is running fine on another computer on the same wireless network this one is running on and it works fine.

However, set everything up the same, reinstalled once and changed the compatibility mode to every option available. No firewall running to block it and have tried running it in admin also.

Anyone have any suggestions lol?

trevius 07-08-2010 12:17 AM

This is a 4 year old thread. If you aren't going to start a new thread and describe your issue in detail, then please at least describe your issue in this one. It is possible you are having a completely different issue.

What is the exact error you are getting, and when you are you getting it? Is it at the Login Screen, the server select screen?

Autotune 07-08-2010 04:41 AM

Well like in my above post, I have followed everything in the guide exactly.

I get to the Login screen where you enter your account and pass. When I enter the info and hit login after about 30secs i get a message saying it couldn't find a connection and to make sure that my internet is properly working.

I've checked everything, tried port 5998 and 5999 for loggin into EQemu server select, tried running it in every compatibility mode on vista, disabled the firewall, made sure the port was open, and even made sure the internet was working (even though I was surfing for a solution at the exact same time of trying to connect).

I have 2 computers that have EQ running on the same network. One is xp and is wireless and plays everquest fine, the other is the vista which the router is by which has EQ on it but can't get to the server select screen b/c of the error.

I don't know vista that well, and i'm not sure it is a problem with it, but I'm not sure what else it could be.

Autotune 07-08-2010 01:29 PM

also just copied the exact everquest file from my cousins computer and put it on here, and i still get the same message. The game runs fine on his off the same network. Anyone have any suggestions?

Autotune 07-08-2010 02:42 PM

found the problem, antivirus running in stealthmode with firewall. I had to find it and allow the damn thing. I feel like an idiot for not even thinking about checking for one on the other computer.

Thanks anyhow.
