John Adams 07-30-2007 11:53 AM

Wow, now that does look sezy. Nice work!

Alacres 08-02-2007 05:51 AM

Man I really like this, great work! ^^

This beats the cruddy SOE live tutorial by a verrrry long shot.

I hope you decide to release this to the public someday soon :).

Ueguvil 08-02-2007 06:27 AM

You even put Frumpy Irontoe in there ;)

Sakrateri 08-02-2007 06:38 AM

I had not planned on releasing this as I hadn't really thought anyone would like it enough to want it, however once I have all the quest done in it I will release it along with the quests, I am however redoing the sign textures so there will be no soe content in it. It does use ALL of the original tutorial NPCs along with alot of custom ones.

Windcatcher 08-02-2007 07:38 AM

I like the path textures. Did you make those?

Sakrateri 08-04-2007 01:11 AM

Yes i made all the textures , except for the tree textures which are yours of course , here are a few more showing more of the paths

404 but I must admit that was the funniest 404 message I've ever seen... Long... but funny... I actually read it all :-D

Damilis 08-04-2007 01:41 PM

...the UPS looks pale... BUWAHAHAHAHA.

gernblan 08-06-2007 06:35 AM

Can't wait for this release! This looks really, REALLY nice!

Sakrateri 08-10-2007 08:07 PM

Ok , here it is, the rar file also contains the linkermap so put that in your eqemu\server\maps folder and then replace your tutorial zone with the rest. I dont have time to finish all the quest im working on for the zone yet so you have to fill it up how you want , Hope ya like it.

New Tutorial Zone

and if you add this to your everquest\resources\waterswap\WaterSwap.config file then you will have new water in that zone
Code:

[NewWaterTutorial]
DiffuseMap=water_c.bmp
NormalMap=water_n.dds
EnvironmentMap=water_e.dds
FresnelBias=0.25
FresnelPower=8.0
ReflectionAmount=0.7
ReflectionColorRed=1.0
ReflectionColorGreen=1.0
ReflectionColorBlue=1.0
BlendColor1Red=0.0
BlendColor1Green=0.04
BlendColor1Blue=0.11
BlendColor1Alpha=1.0
BlendColor2Red=0.0
BlendColor2Green=0.23
BlendColor2Blue=0.17
BlendColor2Alpha=1.0
UVScale=80.0

[tutorial]
ReplaceThis1=Water1.bmp
ReplaceWith1=NewWater

Thanks
~LL~

Sakrateri 08-11-2007 06:01 AM

Sakrateri 08-11-2007 05:22 PM

Your welcome, I hope you all can get some enjoyment out of it, I have another that I am working on but I have tons of trees I have made in 3ds max that I want to use and I'm just trying to find out how to get transparent textures to work in open zone then I can finish it.

Sakrateri 08-16-2007 09:47 PM

I am making some more zones to replace the MMC zones that was mirigauls minagiera or whatever the hell it was called that was some of the instance zones, I will put some screens here and if anyones interested I will give those out also, If anyone wants a custom zone made with openzone and does not want to mess with doing it their self let me know, just draw a rough sketch of what you want and what zone you want replaced with it and I will see what I can do. I like creating zones more then playing the game now lol.

I Look Forward to any of your Releases, The 2 that you already made and posted were Just Great. Still trying to fill tutorial zone lol, Thanks so much for your efforts.

gernblan 08-17-2007 03:38 AM

THANK YOU!

Very very cool!

Do you happen to have a serverside .map for this too for spellcasting purposes?

Would be really helpful and appreciated!

gernblan 08-17-2007 04:00 AM

One other question, please. Is there any chance that you'd release the openzone files for this so that people who want to use it could, perhaps customize it a bit further? For example, maybe change the signs a little... or perhaps add some more or different windows.. or put in more furniture and objects?

You know, stuff like that.

It's an incredible piece of work you did, and it can also serve as an excellent tutorial for a lot more than EQ... it can also serve as a tutorial on Openzone, which could perhaps help more people get into that facet of world building easier.

Especially in terms of trees, which are oh so difficult to do, especially considering there are no zones like this available in OZ format to study (that I know of).

Please consider making the source for this zone available?

Sakrateri 08-17-2007 05:14 AM

yes I put a linkermap file in with the zip. I dont mind giving out the scene file either but you would need all the textures also that I have. may take a bit for me to get that all into a file and put it up for download.

but anyway , heres a pic of another zone im workin on and i got the trees to work finally thanks to Scorp.

@Sakrateri
WOW, That zone looks Great, But then again they all have been great. very talented indeed, Thanks so much for sharing your Hard work.

Sakrateri 08-18-2007 09:27 PM

Here is three zones, Nektropos, MMCA and Tutorial, I have fixed the zone point in the Tutorial to zone to MMCA and then theres a zone point in MMCA to zone into Nektropos. I have antoher zone that Nektropos will zone into but its not finished yet.

Nektropos

MMCA

Tutorial

And there are linker maps in each rar file for each zone.

leslamarch 08-19-2007 02:07 AM

Great, Can;t wait to test them thanks so much :)

leslamarch 08-19-2007 02:20 AM

The textures in mmc Are unreal."only map i have gotten to yet" The brick walls look so real, Excellent Excellent work. The things that could be done with that zone are just endless, Thanks again for This great share
~LL~

Sakrateri 08-21-2007 06:18 PM

leslamarch 08-22-2007 05:07 AM

Another beautiful zone in the works, excellent work on that one.
a quick question for you, would you know how i would go about zoning into nektropos ? when i try the zone command i get zone not available, not sure if i did something wrong or need to add that zone to the emu some how.
Thanks again for all this great work
~LL~

Sakrateri 08-22-2007 05:37 AM

oh yeah , you will have to add it to the database if you dont have it allready. You can try this.

Code:

INSERT INTO `zone` VALUES ('nektropos',NULL,'Nektropos',0,0,0,0,0,28,0,0,1,-2030,1500,2000,500,2000,0,0,0,2,255,0.75,0.666,2,0,0,0,0,0,500,2000,0,0,0,500,2000,0,0,0,500,2000,'',1);

Hope that helps.

Worked perfect, thank you very much for the help. The zone is yet another masterpiece, love it. Since your so busy making these zones i wasn't sure if you wanted or had time for in game maps? I have them all made for the maps you have released so far so if you did want them just let me know.
Thank so Much
~LL~

Sakrateri 08-22-2007 07:14 AM

Actually I had though about making zone maps with them but I thought self exploration is a large part of the game lure so I left them out. However if anyone else here needs or wants them you can give them to them. Thanks.

Sakrateri 08-25-2007 07:12 PM

The new MMCB zone is available now here

Sakrateri 08-26-2007 08:08 PM

~LL~

gernblan 08-30-2007 10:23 PM

I cannot tell you how much this means.. not just to myself, but I am sure, to the whole community.

THANK YOU.

And yes, if you WOULD be willing to package up the OZ files so that people can play with them in the editor too, it would be incredible. I can't imagine what people can learn from this and then also share (myself being one of them).

You could very well be the catalyst that starts a whole wave of incredible new zones for people to enjoy.
