Lootfest Changes- What's the Hype?
 

Well in the last 3 weeks on Lootfest, Darkness and Shootsya have made numerous changes and fixes to long-time bugs. Also there has been more NEW things to do then in the last 6 months prior combined. New bosses, items, quests. So much custom loot and content it'll make your head spin! The server is geared to players who like to solo or small group. Also 95% of the content can be done with you soloing or 2 boxing. The almost constant Gm presence is also a nice addition. Always nice to have friendly gms to talk to when you need to. The server population is very friendly as well.

If you use to play here it's a whole new animal now. The Shards quest is now on a task so no more tedious turn ins and now you can work together with other players to earn shards faster at an equal pace! Come check it out!

Aye, Lootfest in the past few weeks has become a MUCH better place to be tbh. There are constantly 20-30 people online, and there's constantly God groups going on. There are also guilds forming for the raid content (As a few bosses require a solid group) if that floats your boat. Basically, what the server provides is this:

- Solid leveling experience from 1-85, you choose where you go and when.
- "Random" loot from mobs with very nice stats (Some is junk of course)
- VERY friendly community (I personally do giveaways nearly every day)
- There's a GM online at least 10 hours out of the day as a general rule, or some veteran who can assist you.
- Entire questline to get your "God" shards to make you feel godly
- Master of the Hunt scavenger quest if you like searching
- Many custom items
- New raid content almost weekly
- Solid raid bosses that require special strats (Nothing is unkillable, EVERYTHING is tested by shoots heavily)
- Raid gear and Group gear that actually makes you feel powerful and compelled to kill the bosses.
- 2 Boxes max allowed with 1 bot on each toon

Not to mention I host the server on enterprise level hardware, so I doubt you guys experience any issues with lag of any sort anymore since the past few months. :)

Very very rarely akka, there are some days where its iffy, but 99% of the time its extremely stable :D

Soulcold summed it nicely. The server is very enjoyable and the GM's/Dev's are heavily involved with the community and take community request/advice into consideration.

I never noticed lag so thank you for hosting the server Akka and thank you to shoots and dark for working hard.

I gotta say, I just started back playing EQEmu after quite a long break, and this server has been awesome.

Constant fixes, uptime, friendly community, I'm enjoying it here.

Lootfest has been going through some major changes - GOOD changes.
Changes that in the end benefit everyone and allow the server to grow to a NEW and HIGHER potential.

Lootfest has a lot of content and love to give - I hope to see many more on Lootfest - Shootsya and Dark have done an amazing job so far and I am proud to work with them both. Shootsya has to be one of the best GM's/Developer's we have ever had.

Maybe a few weeks ago I checked there were definitely packets being processed on common zoneserver ports as well as 9000.

I will just delete the machine if you don't plan on using it anymore.

I really appreciate you offering that host Akkadius, it been helpful place to try new ideas before taking it live :) If its not too much trouble to keep it up that would be great. If not, thanks anyway.

It's back up using less than half the resources it had before which is definitely enough for a testing environment.

The hub zone has been recently updated to be user friendly to all clients! So if you are using titanium you wont crash trying to just zone in anymore. =)

We also recently added a Casino! Pretty awesome stuffs!

Just about to go Live with a zone revamp. 25 new custom made items. High plat drops in zone and also a much bigger challenge then anything else before it.

I have been on the server for about 3 weeks and have to say I am loving it. The GM staff is awsome to say the least and the content has me hooked. The custom revamps add such a nice twist to the server. There really is something for everyone. Great solo/boxing play and now with some raid level content added and to be added, it gives everyone something to enjoy. If you server hop and land there you might not hop any farther. Helpful community members are always contributing great info on the server forums so check it out =D

Our server rule for 3 boxing was just lifted. Players may now 3 box if they wish! (change is due to current content changes and upcoming changes)

A few new things were added today.

NPC Changes.
-New AA Merchant with items for banked aa's now in lavastorm (more things going to be added as time goes on)

-New Level Changer npc in lavastorm now. Basically once you hit lvl 85 you can then purchase some no trade lucky dice that allow you to adjust your lvl between 1 - 85 at any time by simply stating to the npc what lvl you desire. This will allow power lvling other toons easier without swapping gear around and or lvling with friends or other players without making a ton of new toons.

-Item to Token exchange npc added to Lavastorm. Basically he gives you back the token from said boss that the item came from so you may then choose another item.

Lootfest is running Double Experience to celebrate the 4th of July. Goes now until July 7th at midnight. Perfect time to start a toon and grind some aa's. I know lots will be making purchases from our AA merchant the next few days!

Our double xp got extended till this friday. We also got a new hub zone! =D

Some server stability and Hub zone stability issues fixed.

Ok so all of our dev team got together and we updated the source on our server and some other code. Also found a ton of bugs in our Hub and we havn't had 1 zone crash or mis-loaded zone all day. I can truly say our stability is fixed. (for now)

We now have our donation merchant up and running in our hub zone. More to be added soon to it. Getting closer to the release of our biggest zone revamp ever. (week or 2)

65K points for an aug that will drop in the new zone. 6500 bucks. Don't really care how rare something will be or how hard it will be to get (Which, lets face it, we know it won't be all that hard to get in the end), nothing is worth that kind of money on a private server. Let me know how many of those you sell.

Older content isn't so bad, (although plat selling is kinda meh, Ni Hao) I can understand 30 bucks for the Quarm token, that's really just not asking a lot. 27 bucks for the North Karana augs? Man, I sure as hell hope you're getting more than one aug from paying that much (Considering you need 4 augs for a piece of gear to be fully augged).

Like I said, this is going off of your pricing on the forums, and I've honestly got to say I'm surprised no one else has said anything yet. This just seems so greedy, and I have a hard time believing that this is the kind of thing you'd all try to pull off, and I know you can do a much better job. This is disgusting.

The 65K Points are just there so people can see visually what will be available soon.

65k is the max amount the server will allow a price to be on those merchants.. It was just to give a visual, those items will be available at a proper price when the time comes.

Some people wanted to see a few new things before akheva was released, so instead of taking those items out before making the merchant public, we priced the items high.

I didnt even see the OOCs about the item being there just to show some of the new loot. I used a little brain power & some common sense. Thats all it took. I cant even believe you would actually think it was there to purposely be 6.5k, what if it was 20 grand, would you still think it was really meant to be purchased? lol

While I much preferred the direction the thread was heading before the clean, you can edit that shit pretty easy.

Akheva is a newly revamped zone full of new items, tasks and new fun challenges to overcome.


The story line is basically this, a force of great evil has infused the zone with a new vengeance and hate for all things good. One of the Elders of Justice on the Tribunal Council from PoJustice have come to investigate who or what is the cause. He has concluded that it can only be the power of the Gods themselves. The question remains, which gods?

The Devs have left the server and have taken LF with us. It is something we have been wanting to do for a long time to so we can run things our way.
