Account Recovery
I am looking to recover my warrior after leaving the scene for a few years.
I was looking forward to Velious on P99, but I forgot my login information. I just need the account name that shares the same IP as my others, and I can take it from there. I sent in a message under "Contact Us" but so far no reply. He's fully geared up with over 100k on him. :( |
do I just keep bumping this up every 12 hours or so now? :/
|
Or you could read the sticky at the top:
http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=33835 It seems that after all these years, no one has solved this serious problem. |
Not sure why there isn't a standard password reset (the SMS is not a standard reset). An account name recovery option isn't standard and very few sites offer it.
Can the site admin find this information/change it? Yes. Will they? Unlikely. |
I don't need it changed. I only need the name of my accounts so that I can enter them. I already know my passwords.

Goto http://www.eqemulator.org/account/?LS
Account Ref: xxxxxx the number is the account name then just type in your password Example: login: Use the account number password: xxxxxxxx no login name needed tda! |

The simple fact is Rogean is busy and the only way to find your account is an IP comparison which isn't always reliable. Sure he could check the last time it was accessed, maybe you know the associated email, etc. It's still a security risk and he's still extremely busy.
PM him and hope for the best (assuming he allows PMs). Bumping this thread acting like we don't understand what you're asking isn't going to help you. |
requesting assistance in recovering my account as literally stipulated in support read-mes on this site please. ignoring trolls.
Issue: Lost Forum Account Name(s). Solution: If you registered multiple accounts around the same time, it is likely they are registed under the same IP address. The IP is tracked each time a post is made and when an account is registed. The EQEmu team has the ability to search for accounts that use the same IP addresses. Depending on how old your accounts are, how long the time was between registering them, and some other factors, the EQEmu team may be able to locate your other account(s). You can make a request to get it checked out in a post or in a PM (not everyone is guaranteed to answer). |
That is for forum accounts. Did you forget the password for your forum account or login account? From your post it seemed to me you need your account password reset.

Good luck with your treating people like shit and expecting preferential treatment in 2015 goals. |
I doubt they are going to recover a forum name for you, but you can do account password recovery by email (should give the name as well id think) http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/login.php?do=lostpw

bump, requesting assistance
|
would be highly grateful for help in recovering my account please

Bumping a thread is not likely to get you assistance with your issue. Before the last major site update to upgrade the version of PHPBB that these forums run, Moderators and Developers had the ability to access the admin portion of the forums to research IPs and such to help find associated accounts. Unfortunately, that access has been lost with the new version of PHPBB, so now only administrators (red name) have access to do what you need.
I used to help with issues like this when I had access, and could find the needed info (forum account names or registered email addresses) by searching for matching IPs. For security reasons, I normally only provided a partial username or email address, as that is normally enough for the owner to figure it out without being too much of a security risk for someone trying to hack another person's account. Again, I no longer have access to assist with this, only admins can. |
Seems like a system destined to break. Putting all that responsibility and work on only a couple of people....

Worst case scenario, playing back up again from level 1 is still pretty darned fun.

I approve of the last message. My Velious server will be up in a few weeks, free ale for everyone on opening day.

Doesn't matter. If the tree fell, gravity, physics, time, decay, etc. are all still working. It's the cycle and function of life.

looking for help in recovering my EQ account please
|
Seriously? You are just going to keep bumping this post. That is the worst way to try to get help around here.
|
Help request noted. Just wait for assistance.

I'm trying to get help recovering my account too, who the fuck will help me.

Once again: http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=39716
The recovery issue has been resolved for modern created accounts. You can't recover historic accounts that had no password recovery system installed at the time, that is all that there is to it. We can look things up but also run into the issue of people trying to jack other peoples accounts just as much as anything so it becomes something that we don't care to babysit. Everyone can forget passwords I totally understand that, but that is the reality of the situation and it would be ideal that it was resolved sooner rather than later. Even now we have some issues with SMS but that is entirely in Rogean's court ATM. |
