The Lockjaw Server

Just to let everyone know, I've put my server up for public now.
The Lockjaw is there for the casual solo/group players. It is a work in progress but it will NOT
be a raid production server. It is simply an "out of the box" server with a few things added to
compensate for a low population server.
Bots and Mercs are enabled with no IP limiting. I have added some NPC's in the PoK and
Guild Lobby that will gladly hand out free buffs for the level you are at.
There is also an NPC in the PoK to port you back to Tutorial after you get buffs. He will also
respect your eligible level.
Some of the old zones that were revamped are back up and running. It is still being worked
on, but East/West Commons, North and South Ro, Oasis of Marr as well as Toxxulia exist
like they used to.
Maximum level is 85 and all EQ clients are welcome. (RoF/RoF2 has not been tested much)
My work on this server will be ongoing whenever I have time, but if you have any problems,
feel free to PM me on here. (Lockjaw server issues ONLY please)
My website www.thelockjaw.org is UNDER CONSTRUCTION, but I will be working on it
to provide outside support for the server.
PLEASE RESPECT other players by not interfering with someone else's fun. It's a video
game people. No need to fight over it, or I will have to send you to your room (smirk).
Have fun everyone :)

Burningsoul 11-25-2015 09:38 PM

You had me at "bots" my man. Best wishes and see you on.

Huppy 11-25-2015 10:26 PM

Thank You. The npc's that buff can do some group buffing as well. The ones in the
Guild Lobby buff 65+ (including bots grouped with you) with Gallantry, Unity and
Prescience.
The NPC's in PoK will will buff with temp, hos, sow, clarity for low level.
Others will cast Virtue, Foe, etc for level 45+
I will be working on NPC's to put in Bazaar that will sell summoned gear as well.
Should have that done in the next 24 hours.

I'm not too sure how well stealing live server names will go over.

Until I read your post, I didn't know they had a server with that name.
I've been using that name in my conf file at home for 4 years now.
There is one on here (now) called Firona Vie, which used to be a live
server as well. Not sure if they still have it, haven't been on live in a long
time. But if EQEmu admin wants me to change it, no problem, like I said,
didn't know live had one. I actually logged that name in here, once
back in 2012.

what expansion does this go up to? i see lvl 85 which is great, but do we have expansions open up to that level too along with raids?

Your "raid" question is answered above in first post. But as for the level 85,
you level as far as you want to that level. (solo/group). The HoT zones are
there for access. This is a low-end server, not meant for raids. But if you
want to grab some bots and go hard. I will be looking at working on higher
zones, BUT it will be simple, loot/experience, etc, with maybe the odd custom
quest.

microlo 11-26-2015 01:33 PM

I am in game if you can talk there

Huppy 11-29-2015 08:06 PM

Sorry for the downtime people, had some urgent issues to deal with. I also apologize to those who
have previously created BOTS, as you will have to re-create them again. There was an issue with
the client being disconnected when using the "bot create" feature.
But the good news is, the bots will now zone with you.
The problem with the AA's disappearing when you zoned has been fixed as well.

The Lockjaw Server celebrating the Holiday Season

Its that holiday season again and to celebrate, The Lockjaw is bearing gifts for the
month of December.

NPC traders in Bazaar have FREE summoned gear, useable by ALL races. (Bots & Pets)

FREE beneficial potions are on an NPC as well.

There is also low cost Defiant gear that is not as defiant as it was. The "attunable" flag
has been removed.

Just simply use your "Find" button to locate these NPC's in Bazaar in the red quarters.

The desciples in the Guild Lobby are not charging a dime for corpse summoning stones.

Have a GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON and BEST WISHES everyone !

Huppy 12-02-2015 05:54 PM

Forgot to mention, if you buy a merc, they have no upkeep cost.
If you have a desire to have your merc renamed to something more unique than the
random generated name, look for me in game /who all, and send me a /tell

Huppy 12-03-2015 06:09 PM

By the way, so far players using MQ haven't been a problem, as they don't interfere with
others game play. Also if your toon is AFK, it's no big deal, but if I have to restart the
server, (usually when it's empty if I can) one notice message will be sent to afk toons, so
if you come back to comp and you've been disconnected, you know why.
Thanks for your patience :)

Hotzones

Hotzones don't seem to be working. Went to Lower Guk and was getting atrocious experience.

I apologize sculler, lower guk was supposed to be flagged as hotzone, but I
didn't realize until now it was one I missed when flagging the zones.
I will be changing Franklin Teeks script soon, to reflect more on the old style.
But I can confirm, lower guk is flagged now. Thanks.

Huppy 12-07-2015 05:44 PM

Just an update for ROF2 clients. There is little glitches here and there that are specific
to the ROF2 client. (zone points/doors not working for them sometimes, etc.)
One person was zoning in to guild lobby, where I was (and another toon), but this player
could not see us, or some of the NPC's in there. While that player and myself were in
the lobby, I had to "summon" him to bring him in to the same lobby zone where I was.
I put some porters on both sides of the GL/PoK door and he was able to zone in to the
lobby properly that way with his rof2 client.
That player has "aquired" (and is now using) a UF client and those problems went away.

Uleat 12-07-2015 06:00 PM

I think the guild lobbies are either static or instanced, based on client version.

There is a script that handles that..or at least it handles moving you to the correct one - can't remember atm.

Probably just needs to have the RoF2 client added to it. (That whole mess is a tricksy hobbit!)

I actuallly just read something about a script being used, under event enter but
I will look around for it

Check the pok quest folder (et. al.)

I just thought of something. I have the GL set to launch as one of the
static zones in the launcher. Could that be an issue for the rof2 ?

Huppy 12-07-2015 06:36 PM

I won't be able to fix all the zoning issues with the rof2 on my server, because of the
way I set it up. Any of the old zones that were revamped, I reverted any of them that
I could back to the old versions for zoning. (zone points, doors, ports, spells, etc).
The main reason I did that because if a Titanium client groups with a UF client and they
want to got to (for example) Toxxulia, by default, the titanium would boot in to old version
and the UF in to new version, so they wouldn't be in the same zone.
But now thats an issue for the rof2, because that player I mentioned can't zone in to
the old tox with the rof2 client. But I'm determined to keep the old zones, hahahaha

Uleat 12-07-2015 06:38 PM

I think some client version GL's are suppose to be static - or at least, not instanced.

I'm pretty sure the instanced ones should be where housing was added.

Specifically on 'static' - not sure. Some of the other devs have worked on that feature, though.

Huppy 12-07-2015 06:49 PM

When I enter the Guild Hall, and it starts running that timer with message "will expire in
23 hours, 59 minutes, bla bla" , that timer does not reset even after I zone out and log
right out of the game. Its not a problem or issue for me, but even 10 hours later, if I
log on and zone back in to the Guild Hall, that same timer is still running. Then if I stay
in there when the timer runs out, I get booted out to bind point, LOL

Huppy 12-08-2015 04:29 AM

RoF2 Client (on The Lockjaw) - Invalid Zone(344:0)

This is just to let clients know that there is issues with the RoF2 client on
The Lockjaw server. I don't know if this is happening on other servers.
I didn't have that client to test before tonight, but since aquiring it, after
some players reported issues, there is zoning problems.

The Guild Lobby and Guild Hall are a different version with the RoF2.
So far in testing, when zoning in to lobby with RoF2, I get a message in the
client window: Invalid Zone(344:0) You will be directed to the proper instance in 10 seconds.
It was easy to quickly establish by the graphics that the RoF2 sends the client
in to a revamped version of both the lobby and hall.
I have npc porters for the in and out to correct lobby, which works good, BUT
unfortunately the Guild Hall doors don't work with the RoF2, as well as other
zoning points within the game.
So until I can come up with a resolve, I would not suggest using the RoF2 on
The Lockjaw. Thanks.

Okay you are going to have to explain this some more.

Is there some standard way to do bots across EMU's I missed? The servers that had these in the past had some kind of NPC to explain things, or instructions on the server site about it.

And why do say "mercs?" I hailed the two Vah Shir mercenary liaisons outside the bank, no response to hails. Are they the same thing as bots? You have to create them at the command line as it were?

And how many can you have? A bot army like some other servers?

If you can this server is definitely not for me. I know you ultimately wind up soloing most of the time on any emu, but we all know what servers with the guys that run 35 bots wind up like in the long run. Totally different game than... anything really.

I find your questions somewhat conflicting. Your sign up date clearly shows you have
been around this site for a long time. You've indicated in other posts that you have
played EQ on the live servers, so you should know how to create a merc with your
right mouse button.
As far as any knowledge you need on bots .....This forum is full of info on many things
that you can read about. Some of it, you don't have to look far.
OR, to give you a quick tip: In the game, type #bot help
As far as anyone on any server using "an army of bots", it doesn't stop you from
playing the way you want to. Look at the Server List and find something you like.

NatedogEZ 12-08-2015 01:04 PM

Thats from the player.pl of guildlobby. It moves players on RoF to a different instance.. you could turn it off but other players will see the RoF+ players walking through walls lol

Huppy 12-08-2015 01:39 PM

Ya, I shut that off this morning, but now the rof client can't get any reaction from the door out to PoK.
It can zone in to the non revamped version, but not back out., plus I got guild hall doors not showing
with the rof2 client. Kind of that doors have gone under the world look, lol

Uleat 12-08-2015 05:56 PM

Check you door versions in the database for those too..

..they may be using a 'default' action.

Huppy 12-08-2015 07:56 PM

I was looking at the door versions for the guild hall doors in the lobby. 4 of them, total.

There is 2 of them set at version 0, door ID's of 2 and 4. Door name is GUILD_DOOR_

The other 2 door iD's 40 & 42 are version 1 with a name of OBJ_GUILD_DOOR

As for the zone out to PoK, there is 2 of them.
One is TRANS_ENTRY doorID of 3, version 0
The other one is OBJ_TRANS_ENTRY doorID of 41, version 1

NatedogEZ 12-08-2015 08:06 PM

Could just tell players to overwrite the files with old guildlobby and place everyone in that version.. or vice versa

I tested on Underfoot, going into the newer looking guild lobby but requires the doors from version 5 of the zone.

Uleat 12-08-2015 08:07 PM

Yeah, there was a change in how the client handles doors somewhere along the line.

If the correct door names are not sent..one set of clients will just see empty space - complete with stars :P

Huppy 12-08-2015 08:44 PM

Well right now, the zone in to lobby from pok, the door sends the rof2 client to the old version. This
was achieved by editing the perl script. But once in the lobby, the rof2 client can not zone back out
to pok without a port. Clicking on the zone out door does nothing. But it works fine going in, haha.

I do have an npc porter (like the sage they had on live), to port a client out of lobby. But I might have
to implement the same thing for the guild hall. (an npc porter to send the rof2 client in to the
instance) As a last resort anyway, lol

Uleat 12-08-2015 08:53 PM

I'm pretty sure that no one has looked at that since RoF2 became active...

It may be that another 'special' handler is needed.

If you manage something before one of the dev's get to it, please post and we'll see if we can get it worked in sooner.

Huppy 12-11-2015 09:56 AM

SANTA KLAUS visits The Lockjaw

SANTA KLAUS and his little helpers have parked themselves in the PoK bearing
gifts for everyone, including 10 dose double experience potions.
All zones have been tagged as a HOTZONE for the rest of the holiday month.
NPC Traders in Bazaar are also getting involved with free summoned gear and
and potions, including clicky res. Have fun everyone !!
The Grinch is also lurking in the midst with nothing but bad thoughts ........

Huppy 12-13-2015 01:31 AM

Just to let people know, when your on the LockJaw server, I am usually always logged on,
in game, (except when sleeping), but quite frequently I have the "GM" status turned off.
I have to do that when testing various features out, because some things like locked doors
will open for GM without a key, etc., so I have to turn the status off for testing.
In many cases, clicking on that GM list button in your UI window, will not show me there.
If you need help right away with something, (regarding normal game play), you can type
/who all in your chat window and see my name, then send me a /tell.
If its marked AFK there will be a message with it. Thanks for your patience :)

Huppy 12-13-2015 09:52 AM

For those who have exisiting bots that cast pets - If you are annoyed with the pet agro,
you can delete that existing bot and create a new one (same kind).
NOTE: An update has been done that stops all bots from spawning a pet. This was needed
to get rid of the annoying agro from pets which caused issues. So if you have an existing
bot that summons a pet and you want that pet, DO NOT delete that bot. Any NEW BOTS
created will NOT spawn pets. Including Mage's, yes I know that sucks, but sorry, had to weigh
the options.

Visit The LockJaw Website

Some basic work has been done on The Lockjaw website to give people info they need
to know anything about the server for playing, updates, etc.
I would encourage anyone looking for info on the server, to visit the website.
Player support for The Lockjaw will only be done ingame or through the website.

http://www.thelockjaw.org/

provocating 12-14-2015 05:31 PM

I was hoping you linked the website in that paragraph, not seeing it though. May want to put it in your signature too.

http://www.thelockjaw.org/

You are probably going to kill yourself constantly updating an about page with changes. You might just want to setup a forum and do monthly or quarterly post regarding changes, that way you have a nice history.

I kind of oops'd and forgot to put the addy in the post. Unintentionally though.
There won't be any updates posted on my page that players don't urgently need to know.
I encourage them to keep an eye on the MOTD for anything important.
But changes will be kept on history offline. I most certainly don't want a forum site, lol

provocating 12-14-2015 05:45 PM

Why would you not want a forum?
