The new patch again!
 

So, EQEmu is now two patches behind the Live servers. We ARE working on it. They have enable packet grouping, this isn't a problem in itself. However, it looks like the client is also doing compressed grouping and expecting the server to send the same!

In English, this means that as well as all the struct changes that are taking an age, we have all this to contend with. So, still NO ETA. Sorry.

Kind of like how it was a year ago, the three month patch :-) Keep working guys, we may be behind but you guys are doing some great stuff here! Keep it comin'! 8)

Hey, take your time dont stress not like you have a deadline.

The 4.1 version works still, this is prob a good time in the emu's life to start refining the code as you have to kinda start over on structs it seems.

So this new patch should fix the 1017 error in which i cant load any server to make a char?

1017 error, i cant run any patcher, im not supposed to run a patcher, how are all these other people getting on the servers when i cant get on because of this error. ive tried re downloading eqwindow, and eqhost.txt nothing is working :roll:

And maybe make EQEmu to work with eqfix, or make some decrypter or something like ignition or UORice for Ultima Online, and stop racing with SOE, just patch to the newest ver. then patch with EQDecrypt and connect to EQEmu...

Don't know if this idea is real to do, but... it's just an idea :D

OK, so i just reinstalled EQ on my comp after a few weeks of redoing my computer. Do I run the patcher because i have no updates or what?

Ok with the rate that SOE is patching EQlive. What patch should i stop patching my Version of EQ that runs on the EQEMU server?

Being new to EQEmu I spent last 20 + hours non stop redoing database, trying different versions of Emulator and reinstalling EQ over and over again. Kept getting stuck in the same spot error 1017... dumped back to server setup screen. Unknown opcode or something like that. But after I tried to login into 'eqlogin1.eqemu.net' I realized that it wasn't the emulator nor my setup. It was EQ Client. Damned patch.... and even though I can bypass it, I still need to get old patch somewhere to make it work. I just found out about EQEmu and EQ has been deleted off my HD for while I am SOL.
Well I guess my only option is to wait for new release of EQEmu that will work with the latest patched version of EQ Client at which point after getting things to work I'll just burn that crap onto a CD. :idea:

I have the patch just before the latest one... is there a way to run from there? or did I patch one too far? I assume I did... if so... how can I get back to where I am suppose to be to run the emu? (BTW... first timer here... but I think I get most of it... just should not have patched)

I have also downloaded the recent patch... and I wonder what this 4. whatever is, do you need that to play EQEmu on the already made servers? Not much actually explains this carefully or in much detail. I've changed my Eqhost and all and still get the 1017 error... would really like some info so I can see for myself what playing on the emulator is like.

Well, as said in a different post, I was able to get onto the EQEmu servers last night without a hitch after checking out the IRC channel... it was a great fix! Thanks to whoever came up with it, great job!

I'm new to the forums, new to EQemu...can you elaborate on this? The IRC channel? Which one, and what type of info am I looking for there. Also, you say it's working for you, what was the last patch you DLed?

Nevermind...I think I found what I need....I'll know tomorrow.
