Hehehe I remember getting the PoD killed once. You know that level one monk in Qeynos that follows you if you say something to him? You're supposed to lead him back to the monk guild but if you attack the priest of discord, when the pod hits you the monk will attack him, which will cause the really high level monk beside him to attack the pod. :) I did it with a level 1 character that started in Qeynos so I ran back. It was a cool fight. The PoD kept complete healing himself so I had doubts, but the monk kicked his ass. Was hitting for 300+. ;)

Easiest way (long time ago - might not work anymore) is to charm a bat in gfay and tell the bat to attack POD while you are standing near guards. The guards will then attack pod and kill him :P

They nerfed charmburning a little while ago..was a main source of fun when i was bored ;)

He was slain muuuch earlier then this before. we killed him in Gfey with 17 necro's =D anytime a pet died we'd just summon another and was an endless battle till he fell dead, was fun.

They might as well take the priest of discord out of the game. Just a good way for newbies to ruin there charactors. I mean why would you want to hand in that book? You can't be buffed or healed by regular players after that.

Maybe you didn't notice you don't start with the book anymore?

You have to go through some dialog with the Priest of Discord first. The only way to accidently become PvP now is if you don't read anything PoD says and type the key words.

17 necro's? Jeez.

Back when he ignored pets I did it with myself(52-ish mage at the time) and a druid to heal me when he'd nuke me. Took half an hour or so but we won.

After he started attacking pets, I did it with myself(55? or something) and 2 other mages, chain summoning

Not too long ago at lvl 62 I _almost_ solo'd him, ran out of mana when the PoD was at 10% health, though. Grabbed a beastlord and we killed the PoD a few times and handed out robes. :-D

Killing the PoD is a favorite past-time of mine. Hah. :-D It's funny when a low level will run up to him and attack him, not knowing that the PoD will always attack any PC's in range if only pets are attacking him.

Ive seen a Warr Ench combo dueo him (Warr all Time gear so...kinda EZ) but befor that friend killed him on a Ranger and befor that on a Druid heh...I killed him on a level 65 monk..on Rallos Zek in Rivervale rofl

One time while I was new on Ec`i and new to EQ period. There was a tracking problem and a ranger in wolf form was using his bow and kiting him... taking full advantage of the tracking problem caused by the tree platforms above. Kinda funny watching the PoD running around like an idiot with arrows hitting him from a wolfs mouth.

I killed him on live a few weeks ago..not hard..1 warrior (me) 1 65 cleric (also me).

pod = WORKED

PoD is easy to solo on live. If you've got a decently EP equipped( Elemental Planes geared) character, you can probably do it. My friend on live, a wizard, can solo the PoD. My bard can easily solo the PoD on live.

I like to make the guards attack him, damn bastard.

Killed him with 6 people the day kunark was released in freeport. No exploits just good tactics.
Monk - Warrior - SK - Mage - Shaman - Cleric if memory serves, server gm and a couple guides watched us and everything, gave us booze afterwards.

havnt they updated the PoD? A few days ago on live , he wears chainmale and duel wields two swords. Heard 2 50's shouted they got hammered for 700 each by him?

Ya i wish i still had the screenshot of a gm event where everyone was told to create level 1 halfings then my brother thought it would be funny to attack the pod so he did then all the halfings jumped him which was about 100 then a pally came in and started to attack him but the pod was only going after the halfings and the pally was never hit so he was able to kill the Pod ...there were hundreds of dead halflings all over the entrance to rivervale

Nah its people who are bored and give him weaopns and armor, usually summoned mage armor (the red looking stuff) as for him hitting for 700, i think if maybe you were lvl 1 with 10 ac he might be able to, but the wepons have no effect on that aspect of it.
