EQEmu Patcher problems..
 

If you are having problems using the patcher, just download this http://www.eqemu.net/patcher/mdac_typ.exe , install it, and restart your computer.

Yes, it is true that a majority of the errors can be fixed by doing this, but there are couple of errors and cases where it does not help. For those of us/you who can't fix the problem with the solution above, I suppose we'll just have to wait until they fix the other errors or tell us how to prevent/fix them.

What error are you having Vermea? A little help here would be useful

I installed and ran the patcher becouse I was having some bug problems thinking this may help.

well it made it worse. now I cant even get to the player select screen.

so I installed the update thing and even worse yet. I can login select server and then crash to the desk top no mater the server I try.

please dont tell me I have to format hd or reinstall EQ becouse I have a 60gig HD and a good live account and thouse 2 options are not viable!!!

As for this other person, why can you not reinstall Everquest? You're EQ live account will still be there when you finish, will it not?

I installed both of those and I can create a character but when i go to play him i get booted to desktop :(

if i press the patcher it says cannot connect to patcher database or something like that and than it terminates it action

how do i fix it so it finds it ?

As of now the eqemu patcher does not work.. :(

The patcher worked for me but all the severs seem glitchy and i often get diconnected

Can you please paste me the info from the patcher if it works for you? And can you please do a : nslookup patchdata.foreverhacking.net for me? I can't seem to get a lookup here at all on that host.

I dont know that we have the sourcecode anywhere, but might be a VB/OS specific bug...

I have the source code, but it is VB. I dont know if I have the last version or not, but I do know I have a copy of it. (It isn't open source btw)

i am having problems just getting logged on to the server...before they went down :(

When I try to run the patch.exe it fails & the log patcher.txt reports:

GetFile Filename: patch.dat
Error: Connection reset


Is this due to the fact the server is currently down?

I had just recently gotten this to run with my trilogy.. but since I've logged off I've been unable to log back on through the patcher.
IT tells me that I am missing files.. however.. at the end of telling me that.. It doesn't d/l them.. and says it's ok to play.. but It kinda halts.. heh. so I have to move my cursor to the Run EQ check to click it to run... once again, however, I am stopped by an error saying ' run-time error '53' : file not found '

Could someone help me with this?

Ok now i'm having a totally different problem. I installed tha patcher to my EQ directory and had to install the VB runtime files and that. But now when i try run patch.exe i get a runtime error with a load of numbers and then it says C:\programfiles\sony\everquest\patchsrv.dat cannot be found.

This is where im stuck. There is no file called patchsrv.dat on my pc. This is truly mind boggeling. I made a patchsrv.dat file from does using the edit but it contains no data and i still get error message. How to fix this problem??? Can some one not just post the info in there patchsrv.dat file or put it up for download or somthing? There are LOADS of people suffering from this problem.

Would i be right in thinking that it's not possible to play on eqemu (green) servers without having the patcher? If so are all players who have a proxy disadvantaged?

Every time I choose a server, it says that I'm not able to connect to the patch server and repeatedly seeing the 1017 message means the patch server is down and is usually temporary. How long is temporary? I have been trying since 11am and now it is 4:30pm. I would really love to play this since I spent the money on it. Can anyone help? :roll:

I can't login either to the patchserver :roll:

All the ISPs in my country are using proxies

It's a shame that someone from the development team just doesn't release a patch :(

Im getting "Run Time Error 430, Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface" ??

Patcher is down and won't be coming back up in the same form in the near future. Give up trying to get it to work.

Jeez, this gets covered all the time. Don't ask for the files. Don't ask for the file lists.

If you knew which files were bad, what would you do? Unpatch them? No... They should be of no use to you unless you want to do something against the rules.

I downloaded this program, and im still gettin the exact error, after I restarted several times.

Server Problem
 

Ok, i have the 1.0.1 patcher, or whatever it is, and my eq is up to eqlive, all patched and everything, but when i run the patcher, it says it cant Connect to Patcher Server. And ive tried everything from un/reinstalling EQ and the redownloading the patcher and trying to get it to work, but it still cant connect, some one plz help me and email me at: Paint_ball_pro88@msn.com

Better do a search of the forums, there's only about 50 other topics about why the patcher doesn't work.

Actually doing even basic looking like 5 posts down is hard for some methinks.

it doesn't matter what you download, since the whole patch server is down i can't download the patches to play this really sucks
