Please use your valid email address. We currently block some anonymous/free email services (Hotmail and Yahoo for instance). We do not allow anybody to sign up with these accounts anymore because of the problems linked to them.

However, people think they can just type anything in for their email and it will work. This is wrong. The system automatically sends out an activation email for you to this address. Without it, you can not login to the login servers or onto the boards.

We do not give out your email addresses, only 3 people can see them at all, and we never spam. We only need it for verification. If you dont trust us with your email address, why would you trust sony with your credit card? Do we need to go to charging $1/quarter to credit cards to keep abuse down? I hope not.

Please put in a valid email. We will be pruning accounts that are inactivated and have been so for over a month. This will keep the system clean of the people that dont read any rules and such.

i used a good email address and even put in the reply.. yet i still get the stupild error.. anything to fix that?

You have an account. Otherwise you couldn't have posted. Your password and username here work for the login servers.

ah ok. I thought that the entire account request stuff was for the servers not for the forums. I hadn't seen it made clear anywhere, or perhaps I over-looked it. anyway, thanks :)

My main Email address is @yahoo.com and i don't wanna pay for a new one(which i dont even know where to find), just for this. is there any way that i can register an account, it keeps saying that my yahoo address is banned, and wont work.......and this is my friends name, he said i could use to ask......plus, when i try to play, i hit the patcher, it starts, and it says, can not connect to the patcher, or something like that. can ya help?

If you connect to the internet, you have an email address. I have never seen an ISP that provides you an Internet connection, but does not give you an email address with it.

Call your ISP, ask for the username/password for the email account they set you up, and use it.

We do that so people have to use their own email addresses so we can keep better tabs on the # of accounts, and try to keep people as honest as possible about not registering 20 accounts.

what about excite e-mailsi need another account and when i try to put and excite e-mail it says it is not valid..... that is pretty messed up. Excite is what I use to do E-mail so pls can you fix it im not going to pay for just E-mail.... :?

People spam with free email. Deal with the limitations. It's not broken. It's banned.

Would Excite email be unusable?thats what im using......i figured out my pw and tried to make new accnt,said my email was banned...

i replaced the eqhosts.txt file , used the windowed version...
but after login and attempting a server i always get a problem after it tries to transfer me to the server.

i also made 2 other accounts : [EXC]RavenMaster
but that name was 2 long,.. so i made RavenMaster.
... never recieved an e-mail for activation.

so i made this account,.. activated it,.. made it trough login,.. but now i cant get on any zone servers ARGGG

Ask for help in the general support forums.

just go on google and find one, just make sure its not some big web portal like msn, yahoo, excite, etc.

also, look at the memberlist for new members (ie the big numbers)and see what email services they are using, you might find one that you can use

I think the current registration process may be broken. I have two friends that tried to sign up recently, and succeeded on the first step. However, they were never sent a verification email. I personally tried this, thinking they did something wrong - but I got the same result.

I went into the MIRC chatroom, and someone said that it's a known issue. But I haven't seen it on any forum posts. Is this a known issue?

We've been working around it by using my login/password. Fortunately, we can all play simultaneously with one login. But now we're starting to run out of character slots on our favorite server :)

Well, I for one see a shitload of bad emails come through. Also, your spam filters (or your ISP's) might be blocking it. I try to contact everyone that I can when I know of the problem, but it isnt possible when people put in "not@for.you.com"

I had problems with the whole e-mail thing. I use MSN.com which is ran through Hotmail, so I was afriad I couldnt join. I made one account and used an e-mail that was ran through zzn.com. But for some reason I never got the e-mail from you guys to reply, so I finnaly we joined with this account using my MSN e-mail. Everyting worked out fine! Can't wait to start playing EQ, Ive never played it before so I cant wait!

i just went and created a new email adress at www.myownemail.com u can chose what you want it to looklike like blah@<one of the many selections>.com i used netlimit under the internet category and it worked fine,

Hey, just got EqEmu up again. I havnt played since Images Server went down. But, when i try to get passed the Server Select it says "you may need to Re-run the patch progrom. Please someone help

Not exactly acurate for example BT Broadband doesnt offer an email service its just a no frills fast dsl line and nothing else, several other providers have been doing this too (athough I am refering to the UK only ive no idea about anywhere else)

In the U.S., if you connect to the net, you have an Email, 99.999% guaranteed.

If you need an email account because you have one of these highly spammed ones please email me gp1001@linuxoasis.com and i will gladly set you up an email account @ no charge! its great having your own email server. It has a webmail interface or you can pull your email with an smtp client such as outlook.

The least i can do for the Eqemu brother's and sisters out there!

I just created my account and it give me this error when i try to log in using the eqhost modified for the 5.0 development. :
EQEMu Error: Bad username/password

Does it take some time for the account to be allowed on the game servers?

Is there a time period between creating an account (and being able to post here) and a synch between here and the login server? Because obviously I have an account here, being able to post, but get the "Bad username/password" error when using the EqEmu server. Thoughts, help please?
