patcher fix
since the patcher is down there is another way of getting on.
steps: 1.go to your start menu 2.click run 3. type this: "C:\Program Files\Everquest\eqgame.exe" patchme include parenthesis's and the patchme at the end type it exactly as it is this will only work if you patched the EQEmu with Patcher and didnt unpatch EQEmu. dont patch EQLive or you wont be able to get back on until the EQEmu patcher is back up or if you find some alternate way of getting the files |
dont think so =/
sry :( i dont think theres another way to depatch EQLive without the EQEmu patcher... try hackersquest, i think i remember them having one
|
aright thanks for the help ill see what i can find, ill let you guys know

errr
err sorry ill correct that...
it should say: this will only work is you used the EQEmu patcher before it went down and didnt patch EQLive again. if you repatched EQLive it means you opened up Everquest.exe and logged onto the Live server (ayonae ro for example). also if the run command wont work for you, you can also run EQEmu by EQW. it allows you not to patch to get onto EQEmu. also if you patched EQLive try changing your EQHost files back. the correct EQhost file can be found in the Readme on the main site x-scythe aka krusty |
fixed
edited my post. thanks, i didnt notice the mistype
|
I replaced the host file on the Readme page and now I can get in to login servers but im getting 1017...fix for that is to repatch or something...am i screwed? what files do i need
|
=/
you need a lot of files :( like eqgame.exe
|
trilogy
the command for those with the everquest trilogy is
"C:\Program files\sony/Everquest Trilogy\eqgame.exe" patchme for those like me who couldnt figure it out till my wife sayd somthing  |
Yep yep
I think I know why, for all those that still get the error while running C:\everquest\eqgame patch me (or whatever location you have it set in) This is my theory, I think you did not patch EQlive to the latest patch.....After that you would have to back up the files like Krusty was sayin...There is a way to do that, Im on the brink of figuring it out Just need a little bit more time but I will post it
Another problem of mine~I am tryin to patch EQ to the latest patch but when I click on _verquest or Everquest it says Everquest.exe has a problem Any ideas? Im a window XP pro user and does it matter that I have not done the vpatch.exe? |
Whoops
Sorry all of that ^^^^^ regards to getting to the server screen and trying to log on Everquest servers but getting the 1017 error....Could not connect to EQ servers blah blah blah
|
Hey...heres a way to play even if you have current files!
This is for everyone complaining about not being able to get on eqemu because all they have is the eqlive current files....with this, you will be able to play now!
1. Patch EverQuest to the latest patch. 2. Copy the complete EverQuest Directory (C:\Program Files\Everquest\ or whatever filename you have it under) into a new directory. Rename that Directory to "EqEmu" (so it's C:\EqEmu) 3. Go to: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...lease_id=98770, Scroll down until you see EthernalQuestEQ (win32) and download Emu_0_6_6a.zip. 4. Unzip the contents of the EthernalQuest Emulator file while retaining the directories (the last part is important and will give the emulator it's own directory and placeall files in the correct sub-directories) with destination: C:\. If you use "Winzip", that specific funtion is default off. You can switch it on by thicking the small box: "Use Folder Names". 5. Notice the directory C:\EthernalQuest that has been created 6. Open C:\EthernalQuest from the step above and paste all of it |

|
Really thx man :D
|
Lol, np.....I'm really just glad to help since i can't help in other ways....can't even run my own server! hehe
|
Don't use eqfix.zip. It's warez. Warez is not tolerated.
|
Not Warez....
How is it warez? its just someone who copied the right files to use for patch version....dont see how its warez but dont use if you dont want to, cause i dont care....it helps me out *shrug*
|
patcher controlled the access of those files and limited it to people who had installed eq. eqfix.zip can be used for purposes aside from what you intend it to be used. I won't say how, but Sony gets mad about those sorts of things. Don't post it. Acolyte will be by to delete the thread when he notices it.
It's warez. Trust me. |
Sorry for post the file (i dont see this post before). Perhaps we need a better documentation to prevent more mistakes.
|

This logs me into normal EQ.. How do I log onto eqemu with this command, skipping the patcher? My custom eqemu eq folder is in program files, and I tried typing the run command with the folders name in place of everquest. And tried to type exactly what you said.
|
The patcher seems to work...
|
Can anyone tell me what I need to type under eqw to get it to run eqemu instead of normal eq? My eqemu patch file that I usualy log on with is under C:Program Files\Hoverquest. I tried Typing that then eqgame after it, still runs normal eq. What do I do?
|
When I browse under my EQEmu seperate EQ folder under EQW2.32 there is "Eqgame" "Everquest" "Testeqgame" Testeverquest" and Eqgame & Everquest both load normal EQ. But these are all in the same folder as where the "Patch" icon is located when I open the folder up normaly, which is how I usualy log on to EQEmu.
Actualy the mouse freezes when I try to load those, so I assume its trying to load normal EQ since its the older version of EQW and thats what they usualy do. Can't get it to go to the right path for Eqemu. ?? |
All that jive totally worked for me. Yeah I can play without the patcher.
So its impossible for new people to join now? I was hoping to get some of my friends to play, but how can they update their files if the patcher is down? Thanks |
they cant its stated all over the place now
they need to wait for the next patcher |
When I type in C:\Program Files\Hoverquest\eqgame.exe the mouse is frozen at eula, so I hit Alt+F4 and then I can get to login screen then the keyboard doesnt work and I can't type in my PW to login, so Im thinking its trying to load normal EQ.
Anyone help? |
Hmm software that cant be distributed and games that cant be joined seem to be of limited value. Or perhaps the scarecity makes them PRICELES?!?!?!?!? Moahahaha
|
When following the instructions Talon posted, while updating, do I need to download the extra packages (ie. LoY, Everquest Legends, Optional Zones)
I value my precious 56k of bandwidth  I prolly sound like the biggest n00b asking this, but hey- I am one  |
the patch server for EQEMU is down for now, possibly indefinitely...
|
1017 error after following Talon's instructions
