no, you need to update your database. Maybe it would work with the old db, but you will get a lot of errormessages and some features won't work...

The problem is not fixed, i downloaded the New Release! 0.2.6 but the problem persist.
Login ok I select my server Everquest start to looking for graphic and model Finishing loading world and i return to server selection screen with this error : Quote:

You need to source in the new database... Drawde's updates are not a part of the eqemu project, they are created seperately.
If you want to save a table or 2, (like accounts and characters) then its really not hard to do. mysqldump eq tablename > filename then to get it back in after putting in the new database mysql eq < filename Easy as pie.. The database provided with the game is the bare minimum you need to make it work. The emulator is designed with a database structure in mind that is provided with the release. If you dont use it, you are most likely not going to get it to work correctly. |
Ok .....Strarted up new (2.6) server and found tat it works to a point.
I dumped out the chars from the old Db and imported them into the new one ... these appear to be ok .... but when i try to play them I get dumped back to the server select screen..... :( Is this due to missing Dbase items ? Is Drawde's Db extensions compatible with this new Db ... and can we add them back in ? Marv. |
i find that odd. just replaced exes thats it. still orginial 0.2.5 database with worlddata added on.

The new tables are for stuff like books & tradeskills and for petitions to work again... If you dont use those things, then you dont "need" them, but if you want them later, we kinda can't help you set just those tables up. This is alpha software. We might even have you guys do Player wipes (not account... player) next release.

Yeah. As much I realized after some testing. HOWEVER:
MiniLogin does *not* seem to work with latest client. I did a fresh install with a fresh db. Logged it in via gotfrags, got in fine. Shut it down, changed NOTHING but the LoginServer info and eqhost.txt info, logged in, got booted to server select. |

I got 2.6 working ok. I sourced the 2.6 db.sql into a new database in mysql, then sourced Drawde's individual files (not the full single db file). Set the emu to use the new database and all is good.

minilogin works with latest client too

This works with current client. As for being kicked back to server select, that is when it is talking to your world server, not the login server. Minilogin is based off the same source code as the Gotfrags server, but not compiled with everything in it. Maybe you should post in the Support forum with outputs of the minilogin & world windows when you try to connect.

I found that works with MiniLogin for me. Started with fresh everything , patched the client ten minutes ago, made a Humie Pally - it worked. He even spawned in front of the Temple of Marr.

Well, I can't get the minilogin working at all, no matter what I do. *shrug* Anyways, another bug... - Killing a NPC with a main faction that's set to adjustement 0 cauases zone to crash. So basically, having a "social" faction without loss (for example Fire Beetle faction in VI EQ) is impossible atm. |
