Just curious, has anyone applied yet? I'm pretty sure 90% of the old GW GMs were younger then 10. :P

I would love to come back, but I simply don't have the time anymore to really be of any help. I put a couple comments about my experience as a guide on GW in the suggestion thread, though. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about them or being a guide, I'll answer them if I can.

Until january I am free almost all day every day.


The one problem i DO have is the phone contact. I live with my friend and his family HATES when people call me long distance, they even get mad when i get calls short distance

As long as the being called isnt a problem theres nothing I object to.

OR

If i could call you, I could easily call you using Infone of 10-10-987 or something

Since we all know and have proven time and time again that WR is definitely not legit... I myself am looking forward to a truly legit EQEmu server..

Is it really required? Cant you just use aim? That could be a problem for me... :cry:

Recieving a phone call shouldnt be an issue for anyone over 18 IMO.

Hell, i'm 15 and I don't mind a phone call. Aslong as it's not khuong on the other end. :P

Really really long story

A phone call is completely out of the question for one reason. I don't want to get bitched at by the people who are kind enough to let me live with them by recieving long distance phone calls from people I do not know. I pay for my own stuff except the phone bill. If i get a call from someone long distance, A) I am eithe going to get screwed out of money by having to pay their phone bill or B) I get kicked out of where I am living. Thats why a phone call is absolutely out of the question. If you wish to speak to me with voice, as someone else mentioned Why can you not use Aol Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger or any of those programs with voice chat?

Even then I would need to get a microphone to do that =-/


What reason do you need to speak with a person in voice that you cannot speak to them in text?

Velosity, if someone is calling you long distance you dont get the charge the person calling dose.

I can somewhat understand why getting a phone call would be a problem. When you rely on other people, and are basically mooching, you don't ask for more than you already get. I know that between my roommate and me, if he cranks up the heat too much, I'm charging his ass for electric. That's my bill, and I don't like it increasing from $60 to $100. If I don't like his attitude, and he increased it only by $15, I'm charging him.

When you're a mooch (sorry Velosity), people already don't like your attitude. Getting calls at night, during kids' naptime, while people are on the phone, while people are on the internet... They may get pissed off and charge him.

I can also understand the requirements that you have phone. If they want to call you, then they want to call you. You'd better have vocal communication to

a. prove by your demeanor and voice tone that you have maturity, physically and emotionally.
b. prove that you can control your own environment, which requires financial independence, a right reserved for adults.

I said that we are making the phone calls and we get charged, not you. If you do not like our way of hiring then don't apply! No one is forcing you.

Whoa, sure Ill sign-up...or try out ... or whatever you call it lol, hand in a application :) That would be freakin awsome being able to be a GM on EQ :)

and BTW, a phone call is np for me like it seems to be by others ... Its pretty easy to tell if your under 18 when your on the phone with a 11 year old who sounds like a lil mouse, so i can see why you guys would want to talk to them on the phone...., no offence to the young ones :)

No offence taken on the mooch comment. Go ahead and throw out my application then. It seems you do not wish to leave the option of other forms of voice communications. I am 18, my voice proves it. I have no problem communicating in that manner, but one thing you dont understand is me giving out a phone number that isnt mine, getting calls from people I do not know at all, and being on the phone for this when the people i live with live on the phone. It just wouldnt work

As i said, discard my application then. Your right, no-one is forcing me. But in order to do something that I am more of capable of doing, you need to talk to me verbally seems rediculous when there are other ways of doing it

Velosity just your attitude on this post has disqualified your application. You jump to conclusions wrongfully and you get upset at the slightest inconvinience to yourself. To add I am handling the call not calls, and if you can't trust me with just your phone number, I wouldn't want you to GM my server.

These are the rules. This is how it is going to be done. I was happy to personaly delete your application from our queue. As will i be happy to delete anyone else that has a problem with this.

Why should we trust you with that kind of power on our systems when you cannot trust us? Cant get a phone call because of money? WE CALL YOU (well image will) YOU PAY NOTHING.

maybe if things are that bad where you are staying maybe you should spend less time on the pc, and more getting a job and a new place to live.

Ask yourself...."Will i listen to what a minor tells me to do?" no offense to any of the minors that play. but c'mon....it's not unreasonable to ask for an Adult to fill that kind of role (And i know some of you may think that being 18 doesn't make you an Adult). When i was younger i told everyone i'd get Cigs for them....now tho (being 19, boarderline 20)....that $500 fine for distribution started to look nasty....It's a Mentality thing...

Well I applied, I'll be able to accept phone calls, during the winter I'll be on a lot...hopefully i make it...btw if i call you do i get extra browny points?!? :P

I didnt apply to be a GM but I would like to say I enjoy playing the server and respect the steps you take to choose GM's this time around.

Actually we definately look for bi-lingual people as we seem to get quite a few of Spanish and French speaking people on EQEMu. So if you speak multiple languages (Well, not one year of spanish :P) Tell us!

Heh, i got an English-to-German/German-to-english dictonary =)....if that counts.....but i don't think it does...in either case....Ich bin ein Ausslander =)....that's all i know

bi-lingual is to actually know the language :)

Translators don't work that well and using a dictionary to type out a sentance would take too long to have a conversation.

I'm guessing they want someone who can speak it fluently. :P

I'm almost 100 % sure if i applied i would be the only one speaking slovenian, so it doesen't really matter :D a country with 2 mil. people got used to no one understading their language a long time ago :)

I would be interested. Im from switzerland and can talk both in english and french ( a little german as well, but I wouldnt count on it :twisted: ).

Obviously the phone call isnt a solution for me, my typed english isnt so bad ( though far from perfect ) but my talked one.. ouch =( And im not sure you would pay for that call.

If I qualify, I might fill the registration, just tell me if you need some french speaking guides or not so I dont waste my time :D

i just applied and can speak some spanish that would help some... i forgot to mention that. i dont mind the phone call... but farrens... yes you paladin... call me up and read my app... you will like it. i live in san diego where i think the developer lives so contacting will be easier....
