DB issue

Hi folks. I am new to this. I just installed everything got the server up and running logged in and decided I wanted to up the exp and loot values. So first I setup the peq web gui. After that I went into the database via the installed sql viewer. Heild? Sorry on phone in bed and can't remember the actual name. I go to rule_values and changed the exp for groups and players to 12 it was at .65. I logged in to test after rebooting the server and it appears I am getting the same exp rate as before. I went back in to check if the valued had saved and it appears they did. Is there something I am missing that needs to be pushed or saved? I kinda got the impression when changes to the db were made it auto saves and the world launcher pulls that new info when started. I will do more research this week to see what might be causing it but wanted to ask if there was any quick answers as to why it didn't appear to apply in game.

After changing a rule you need to type #reloadallrules or #reloadrulesworld for it to take effect.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. So I type this while in game under a GM account? I am surprised this is required given I restarted the server completely. I thought that would look at the new db values and pull them when booting up ill give it a try tomorrow!

Just type it in the chat. You may also try #help and check eqemu.gitbook.io for more commands. They are pretty useful :-)

You may have seen that there is a "ruleset_id" for each rule. This assigns the rules to the zones. In the zone table there is the field "ruleset" for this.

The main EXP Rules are:
  • Character:ExpMultiplier
  • Character:GroupExpMultiplier
  • Character:RaidExpMultiplier
  • Character:FinalExpMultiplier

If you restarted the server you don't need to do it.. but you don't need to restart your server every time you change a rule. In the future you can just use those commands and avoid restarting.
