Monster Hero Creator

A long, long time ago on the live test server there used to be something they called something like a Monster Hero Creator.

What it did at the time was to drop you into a random zone as a random non boss monster. You could be a Saltwater Croc in Oasis, A gnoll in blackburrow, A Goblin in Runnyeye, amongst many more randomly created mobs.

The fun thing about it was that you could actually fight PC players and it was fun pestering people as an npc until they called for help and a higher level came and killed you.

Is it possible to bring something like this back?

Pretty sure that was a test server feature..don't know if it ever made it to live.

Currently, no...

We don't currently have the ability to shift the client stream to an actual NPC.

It made it to live, I remember doing it on the bertox server. It essentially let you enter the world as a random mob in a newbie area. mostly a firebeetle, scarab or skeleton. Dont remember it lasting more than a few months before they took it back out due to people gaining up and destroying newbies. If i remember right every class was a warrior. You had auto attack and sometimes kick or bash depending on the creature. Also just like back in the day when you could put uber loot on newbie mobs, you could get people to trade you stuff. A skeleton running around with an exe ax was fun and for the npcs it would proc at any level.

Project M never left test server. Code was later reused for the shroud system though.
