Ok i was playing a server and i got all the way to level 9 with my beast lord, then i tried meming spells like minor healing and stuff and it wouldnt work. I keep gettin an error message that says like your class cannot use that spell at his level. So I figured o well ill make a magician instead. So then I make a magician and minor shielding memerizes fine, then burst of flame said the same error as i was getting with my other guy. Does anyone know how I can fix this error or anything? any help is appreciated thanks.

You can't fix it. That sounds like a DB issue so only the server op of the server you are playing on could fix it.

Actually, from what I understand (and after spending SEVERAL hours comparing several working db's), it is a code-side problem that the developers are aware of and are looking into.

You can typically predict that everyone is having the same problem when you join a few different servers and can't memorize spells. I would be willing to assume at this point that the problem is not client-side, and therefore wouldn't want to tell you to go mess with your db. Just be patient :D

I dont necessarily think this is a code problem..

From going over the code and the items that gave the problems, we found the problems MOST of the time seemed to come from old item scrolls that were linked to different spells in your spells_en.txt files. The scroll SAID burst of flame , but the spell id t was linked too was actually something other than burst of flame, perhaps a level 20 spell instead of a level 9 one, so in that case it looked like an item problem.

d'oh. :D do you think we could simply change the id refs via db?

Thanks for the postings. I was just about ready to start tearing into my db. I upgraded to 5.1 this afternoon and experienced the same problems with memorizing/scribing spells.

Patiently awaiting instructions to fix the problem... :)
