Happy Holidays everyone, hope its going well for all of you.

I promised I would make an announcement of GuildWars 2's opening. We unfortunately lost our sponsor which was a majority of who was running our servers. Luckily the EQEMu team donated some money so we could purchase a new computer and along with the old GuildWars hardware, we are working on setting up the server in the following weeks. Because we have lost our sponsor's connection also, we will be running GuildWars 2 on the connection GuildWars was originally hosted on (my home connection). Luckily because of the improvements in the code and the fact that I am at college, no one uses the connection, the bandwidth will be plentiful and lag will be minimal.

I am sure you all want a date and the closest one il be able to give you is, it will be opening in less than a month and it will open on a Friday. I assure you its not this Friday so that saves you the trouble of checking this week, but after that its fair game.

I thought that I should also put a few explinations about the new game play. Now when killing other clients, you receive faction against other guilds, much like how an NPCs faction works, these will mostly reflect your city guards. Also, cities will now earn profits when you control them, along with cities having the ability to be taken over, towers and camps will also, but they will have no profit. Instead cities,camps and towers all give damage bonuses per location, so the more you have, the more damage you will cause when attacking. Finally, using the LDoN point system, you will earn points when you kill other clients. These points will be used to purchase items only available by PVPing. There is lots more and I promise you all that you will enjoy the server when its ready.
