followed the guide, always back on windows?????
 

Hi People

Another noob ruining your nerves....I really read every single thread here (found only 1 other user/poster with same prob, but no solution there)....I have no idea, what to do/try next...:

I followed the guide to play EQ....first I runned everquest.exe to patch the game up (a runlauncher appeared and a blue stripe is filling up....was that right?), then I changed eqhost.txt and DataRate.txt like in the guide, then I made the shortcut-eqgame.exe patchme -thingie....

Then, when I doubleclick eqgame.exe, a black screen for half a second, then I am back at windows, no error ...nothing....

Please be patient with a EQ-noob, thanks in advance

sound to me like you not even hitting the emu loging server.

try downloading the new pre-patch download expansion whatever, i did that and it works for me now.

...the pre-patch?

@sdabbs: like I wrote, I followed that guide you mentionned exactly....

Any other helpful idea outhere?

uninstall and try again from the beginning, maybe you missed something.

to download the pre-expansion run the eqlive patcher and there should be a popup box asking if you would like to PreDownload Gates of Discord
