Damn my eyes, you must be another mirage.

I've been thinkin bout the line from A Desert Madman from Oasis and those deaserts :
Damn my eyes, you must be another mirage. (whatever the line is im sure I mispelled)

Then I go EQLive's Terms and look at this rule :

4. Foul language is not permitted, in any language.

Excessive use of foul language in an inappropriate context, including swear words, real-world racial slurs, and other language that is not consistent with the fantasy environment and designed to hurt, will be considered a disruption. The existence of the filter (/filter) is not a license to be profane.

I see it says designed to hurt. But I have known people to get threatened by GM's or banned by not using it to hurt. Just using it like saying "Lets kill this shit."

Yeah I wondered the same thing when I saw that, and my eyes did a quick double take on those words on my first ill-fated adventure into the Deserts of Marr. I guess the only explaination is that they are a element of a role playing universe and are supposed to be barbarians who had their brains addled by the heat.

lol

haha, maybe certain ..."four letter words" like "f_cl" aren't permitted perhaps? but damn, I can see being allowed and used in lore.

and designed to hurt
Problem is... if they went exactly by this rule... "And designed to hurt" would be a total opinion. You could say something vulger to someone, and then just say you dident have that intent.. So they just sorta have to act on all profane language reported.

Happy New Year all :)

Pagans?

What about us happy pagans? From shopkeepers to goblins, they all imply that "pagan" is not only a known term in the game, but is also foul/wrong. That'd be up there with smurf-lover or some nonsense.
