bogus spell
 

I just wanted to clarify if the bogus spell that kills you, is for using the summonitem command on a legit server or non legit?

also what are the servers that have no title, like it says legit or semi legit, which one would i be, or non legit lol

1st: He wanted to know if the 'bogus spell', which I assume is pain and suffering, is on legit or nonlegit servers for summoning items... I am not really sure... because I just plain don't summon items :P but I would say that would happen on legit servers... logically... if you try to summon on a server that doesn't allow summoning magic happens.

2nd: If your server doesn't state if it is legit or not... doesn't mean anything... it depends on if you can join the server and summon items... if you have the #summon command it is nonlegit... if there is no #summon it is legit

The 'bogus spell that occosts you' error was due to spells_us.txt being a different format than EQEmu was using. This is fixed in 0.5.3 (as of 1/2/03) and will be in the next release.

thats not it though shawn cause some people on live are also getting hit with a bogus spell when they die there was a joke on the eq forums about bill and ted and this bogus spell.

http://eqemu.sourceforge.net/shawn319/cvs for latest Dr2 code/binaries. see if u still get the spell bug.

cause if i need a seperate folder for EMU, maybe thats why i have all these problems with game crashes, not being able to play the same character twice, unable to log into some servers lol

what crash fix??? i cant fix it if i never have the problem.

You should have at least 4 folders.

1) for your eqemu source code.

2) for your EQEmu binaries, loginserver.ini, db.ini, etc.

3) with everquest in it, updated to latest patch, with changed eqhost.txt.

4) mysql folder.


make sure spells_us.txt from #3, is in #2.

all i have is the EMU patches in my EQ folder just sittin there
my everquest folder, with EQlive patched and the eqhost.txt
i have no clue where i get the EQemu binaries, loginserver.ini, db.ini, etc/ is that what i have to download or are they in my EQ directory that i have to copy and paste into a new folder

EQEMU dont have a patcher.

you need them to RUN a server not play. just follow the play guide to play.

Umm, on the sever forum...i asked about if i could make a personal server that i could play offline

but if i there is NO way to play it offline, then no, i probably wont "attempt" to make a server till summer break
