Questions about setting up a server

Im going to be setting up my own server. I already have a DB that I downloaded now all I need to know is what version of EqEmu do I use does it even matter or do I use the 5.3 version currently im using 5.2 and mysql is giving me grief. So any suggestions will be of help and also I am using the MOST recent EQlive patch.

right there is something.. u need 5.3 DR-2 to make it work with the most recent patch
