New Loginserver up
Right now, we are working on EQEmu 0.3.1. This will give us groups, broken x/y (yes, scruffy has us redoing the database again), and a multi-server login system.
Right now, we have 2 login servers up for beta testing on port 5997. They are eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5997 and eqlogin2.eqemu.net:5997. You might have problems with them at times as we work out the problems, but they will become the single eqlogin.eqemu.net server when it is released. If you wish to help us test the new server code, point your client to one of these servers and use your normal EQEMu account to login. Use the /petition system for bugs as we check those. We might push out a 0.3.1-prerelease next week to have others help us as we start cleaning it up. -Hogie |
Now these loginservers dont work with 0.3.0 right? the line "point your client to one of these servers and use your normal EQEMu account to login. Use the /petition system for bugs as we check those." may be misleading. i think you ment you should edit your eqhost.txt to point to eqlogin1.eqemu.org:5997 or eqlogin2.eqemu.org:5997 and then connect to an already listed 0.3.1 server (and /petition any bugs found).

What does "broken X/Y" mean?
Does this mean I'll have to modify the NPC coordinates in my DB? If so, what modifications do I need to make? This should be no problem (hopefully), I just need to know what it is I have to do to make my DB data compatible with 0.3.1. |
Well, I think we have it handled now. One of our devs was told not to touch the X/Y system and he did anyway and it has been causing us problems. With the default of compiling with it inversing them so it is the "old way", everything will be fine now.

I pointed my client to that addy and got a wrong version error so I'm assuming you need 0.3.1, where can ya get it?
