I designed GuildWars.. so you really don't know what you are talking about lol

By the way, love your post count ;)

i love GW besides the constant bickering between players that act like 12 year olds, well now i cant play cause ive been busy but i bet its still as fun as the launch date was =P

mooiman 01-18-2004 07:25 AM

I'm loving it too, besides the lag sometimes. And the fact that I can't find a guild ;).
Only problem though is that my mana sometimes dissapears (ranger) when I cast 3 spells in a row I'm oom suddenly.

Seriously, I love GW, only one thing wrong. The constant fighting between young people, but of course that is what you get when you have the most popular server and everyone wants to succeed. I would do one thing to it, make OOC zone wide. This is contructive criticism and I am not saying 'GW2 SUCKS!!1!1' I would imagine that alot of problems would be solved. Is this possible, to make OOC just like the other channels? If so, I would love to see it implemented.

If you dont like it, dont play. It's very simple.

Trumpcard 01-18-2004 08:07 PM

Its really annoying when people post to make general statements like 'XXX sucks' but don't articulate any reasons why...

If it's so bad, whats the reason you dont like it ?

I haven't played much on GW2, only 2 hours so my conclusions are perhaps wrong. But it seems that the server is very well maintained, mobs are ok, hit like they should do. Leveling is pretty fast, and regen perhaps a bit high at low level. When i played, it was with a 56kbits modem, and it was playable, never been disconnected (!).
No seriously, once the ooc channel is off, that server is nice, really. Congratulations to the admins who set it up ! :)

BLOOD_kane 01-19-2004 03:57 AM

whoever said GW2 had a bunch of 12 year olds well you are right on that aspect...I have to turn /ooc off all the time. And if I even have a legit question I get called "fag" "retard" "omg i pwn j00 cuz i getted to 50 within 2 dayz!" so I just turn /OOC off and play quietly.

They changed the regeneration too a lower rate which I personally like better (I'm a low level too though so I didn't had advantage of it either ;) )

yeah it does suck, too many bugs...well that was when it first started, maybe its different now. Gonna log on check it out.

The problem most people seem to have when they play is that they either: take the work that has been done for granted, or worship and brownnose. People come into the server and start whining about spire camping and lag and bugged items and mobs, but they don't realize that they're playing on a server that is being constantly updated and refine at the expense of the time of people other than themselves, and they don't even have to pay for it! You are given the option to donate but you aren't forced to, but it's always a good idea. I used to run counterstrike and half-life TFC servers, and isn't half as difficult as I presume this to be. Granted there are errors, but instead of complaining about them, if you can offer useful information about the problem, or even better, how to fix it, you've made the server a better place. The opposite pole holds the brownnosers, people who follow and worship the admins/devs and usually are the first to rally against someone complaining, or even a simple suggestion. Being followed doggedly and worshipped (I lack a less powerful word at the moment) is fun when you're an admin/dev, but it tends to get annoying and often extremely aggrivating when a cult of people begin yelling at one person for doing something and then you have to try to tell everyone to effecively "Shut the @#%$ up!" without sounding like an ass. Being friends with an admin is fine, but following them around and constantly pestering them wastes their time, and your time.

P.S. Articulate might be too intelligent for some users, they might mistake it for a vegetable :-p
