A Thought
This is probably not gonna happen anytime in the near future for any server except GotFrags, but....
Over time, with people logging in to a server and setting up accounts, your database is gonna be chock full of stale accounts. People who have'nt logged in in months, yet you have no idea who's who. My suggestion is to put some sort of "Last Accessed" field in the login_accounts table. The admin tools can then (after being coded to) purge all accounts that are too old. Just an idea I had... |
Just curious. Do these "old accounts" create lag?
also how much space do they take up? |
I wouldnt say they would create lag but they could create pauses during the username/password lookup if you had alot (seeing as it has to search the DB for your un/pwd)
They shouldnt take up much space the contain verry basic info. |
For now I would think 6 months to a year would be often enough to keep it from having any impact on things. In a year that may change though :D
|
Agreed. Right now it is not a concern of mine. But eventually it will be.
