Free MMORPGs
 

Does anyone know of any worthwhile free MMORPGs that are fun? (i.e. trade skills, advanced combat, guilds, etc)
If they are relatively cheap (cheaper than EQ) please post them here as well. Thanks.

WoW Alpha is going in the right direction. www.wowforge.net is one of the best sources out there. Just find the alpha, and the neccesary tools to either play online, or by yourself using a sandbox. Or, you could just wait for the beta. Good Luck.

Yes, a sandbox where you run around in the world with only the ability to look at each zone/area, cast spells that do nothing, and spawn creatures you can't attack.

There is an open beta test coming soon, so definitely watch that one. I wouldn't, however, load up the sandbox server and expect anything special. Just call the sandbox server an over-glorified chat server.

1) on www.gotwow.net you can get a server. the server allows you to use spells against monsters that attack back, and you can gain levels and that will add to your strength. Also, its online, and has PVP,

you are right image another blizzard fan site got the same exact email asking them to remove some files and it was the same email too, it was infocepter or something like that who got it.

Their motto then, must be "Thank God for templates"..... :)

3D engine, 1st person perspective.

Free to play (no combat until next release version, but you can create a character ti explore for now)

They state it will always be a free game as it's part of the GPL (yeah I think that's the letters I was lookign for...)

Anyway, it looks promising as free games go. The models are kinda ugly in my opinion, but for a pre-alpha release it's not too shabby. Keep your eyes on it.

Id personally like to see them make Meridian 59 free, that was my first graphical MUD... played it from beta till Insurrection (about a year or so)....
