Setup EqEMU Standalone, Need Help
Ok all,
I've setup the EQEMU Server on a PC, following the tutorial & furyfizts's guide loacted here: http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12644 Everything loads, up when I run the sequence of: minilogin.exe world.exe Boot5zone.bat I end up with 1 DOS window for Minilogin, 1 for World, and 5 for the Zones. I'm assuming this is what should happen. I've also setup a workstation (second PC) that allows me to connect to this server. I can select a character and enter the game with no issues. Problem is there are no items, monsters, or NPC's avaliable. I've read through the tutorial but still don't know how to add these into my server. This server is for some of us on the USS Wasp when we go underway in a couple of weeks & we'd like to be able to game while underway. I'm assuming I need another mySQL database for these items, but don't know how to do it and/or add it to the server. Any help will be greatly appreciated :) Thanks All HimuraX |
You have set everything up correctly by the sounds of it, but you haven't done your database.
Go into the world-building forum and download MW_alpha3 (sticky post at the top). Source this in and you'll have mobs etc. More details in the thread there. Monrezz |
Dont forget about myradb.slq .. it is also a very good db.... Cant mention one without the other.

The developers of EQEmu don't provide the actual content of the game (monsters, etc). This is done by private individuals (or by the serverops themselves).
The MW database is put together by a team lead by TCSmyworld, who started it on his own about a year ago. The MyraDB is done by Myra, a young lady who is also a GM on the Scorpious2k Server (and whom I believe should put together a team of her own - hint hint Myra). Both are good. Each has its own unique qualities. And the creators of either would be honored to have their work go with you and the others on the Wasp. When you get it installed it would be nice if you let them know :-) Good luck to all of you, thank you for all you do for us out there. I am happy that some of the work I have done on the emulator rides with you and I'm sure the fine developers of EQEmu are proud to have it on the USS Wasp as well. |
You only need 1 database, but could have several if you want different versions of the server. That way you can switch between Myra's or MW's just by editing db.ini, swapping quest directories and restarting the emu.
Oh don't forget to download the latest items. Besides the database that the worldbuilders make, there are also quest files. Quests are DB dependant, so you would have to switch the files if you switched the DB's Mollymillions is curently the one doing the most with quests, and has some avaliable here The reprocessor can automaticly edit the quests to work with your current DB. |
you smell wierd lurker :/
