A Reminder

Please remember before you come on our irc servers asking for help or complaining that the EMU isn't working for you. To read the forums and search them for your problem.

This is to address the recent flood of new people to join our irc chat and asking for help when the question's have been answered countless times in the forums..

We have them for a reason please use them, we are all tired of people telling us EQEMu isn't working for them. And we find out 2 hours after that they didn't edit their eqhost.txt

Thanks again!

The main trouble is that people who asks things without reading the forum won't read this and then keep asking the same things, again and again.
It would be perhaps a good idea to write a red blinking message saying this that people would have to read before they could start to download eqemu or register on the forum.

I think that is a bit harsh. Ill wager that the moron % is actually pretty low.. It is a simple case of being lazy that fills the highest % of people that ask what WE call stupid questions. While I totally unsderstand the frustration of telling somone to do what is listed in the post RIGHT above theirs, one has to understand that to a point that sort of laziness is actually promoted most places you go.

Scenario:
Bill has played Eq for 3 years, and gets laid off from his job, so cant afford to play EqLive anymore. But his passion IS playing EQ. One of his friends tells him that he can play on an emulated server. He goes to their site and sees this MASSIVE amount of posts that he doesnt have a clue what it means. But all he wants to do is to play. So he takes snippets from what is written on how to do this and how to do that... This is why Bill has questions.. EqLive is setup so that you dont even need to read the manual if you dont want to. click here and click there in a GUI and your all set up...

This is NOT to say that all of the people should NOT figure it out by the posts here, I am only saying, dont be TOO harsh on them, and have a little compasion, until it is time to NOT have any.
