Perl Problem

Ive recently tried to add quest i have the latest binarys and everything and i downloaded and installed perl. But when i start up zone.exe it just crashes, i searched post and followed what they said but still no sucesss. I can load eveything and play but with no quest. And when i boot up boot5zone it dosent say anything about checking for perl or whatever it dont have loading embedded perl at the end just loads commands then connects and goes to sleeping mode. i installed everything i could find on teh board (perl and IO::scalar) and it said install ok (and when i checked it i got the AOK) anyideas how to get this to work?and thing im mising? thanks in advance

I give lousy support but it may be a conflict with an incorrect version of a Perl DLL somewhere in your search path (there are posts around relating to this).

THanks ill look for those post..i notice that it does work with the older binarys (0.5.2) it load up the quest(though i cant log into the server i get errors) but as soon as i replace everything with the new binarys it doesnt load up the the quest anymore skips the whole part after loading commands and goes stright to connecting to teh server right now i got the 0.5.3 dr3 binarys im going to look through post some mroe to see if i can find out whats wrong (Just to make sure does 5.3DR3 come with pre compiled binarys? if not, is there a copy of DR1 or 2 that has teh precompiled ones that will work?)

dr3 was not compiled with perl enabled..you'll have to compile it yourself with perl enabled

If you aren't getting "[Status] Loading embperl" or similar then you don't have the perl enabled binaries. As wize_one said, you need to compile them yourself. If you don't have a compiler wait until the perl enabled binaries are put onto SourceForge for all to download and use :P
