solution if you patched feb 10th and can't play anymore
Use the system restore tool to go back to a point before you patched and broke eqemu.
Worked for me. |
Where can i find this restore tool? New to the game for like one day and still figuring out where things are. Anyone help me out?
|
I just patched...and then I just found out my system restore has been turned off since last year...arg

Kudamon: The System Restore tool is a Windows Application, not EverQuest.
Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore. Pick a date around a week ago, and hit restore. I'm not sure if it actually does anything, not tried it. I backup up the directory :) Monrezz |
How do you do that if you don't have that system restore tool? I have windows 98 still? I'm probably screwed.
|
You're probably right.
|
Im sorry to say that unless you made a backup directory of eq to play eqemu on, like the howtos and guies ALL say, then yes, you are screwed... Sorry...:(

LOL grr i wouldnt of patched, but i had a problem where i could not play for more den 5mins without it crashing to desktop and in order to fix this i had to delete and redownload a few files... completely forgetting about the patch, and im not going to system restore coz then i cant play for more den 5mins so its just not worht it.

Example: If you installed NFL football game on your computer the 10th, and it was causing your computer to lock up, you COULD do a system restore to bring it back to the state it was in before you installed that game. HOWEVER, if you do that, then look on your hard drive, you will see that the game is STILL on your hard drive. It didnt touch the files, it just took your REGISTERED programs back to a date before the regristry had any idea that game existed. And by the way there IS a solution to the problem that win98 users are experiencing (read, no system restore). Just grab a copy of norton go back or somthing to that nature, it is essentially a third party version of the microsoft native program System Restore. |
Thanks =)
This worked for me. I ran the restore feature took about 5-6 min to complete. I had to remake my icon eqgame icon cause i was using everquest.exe instead of eqgame.exe. It took me a while to figure out how to make the icon I was placing the space right after the eqgame.exe wheni should have been placing the space after the " for the patchme thing but its all good now. Thanks for the Help=)
