Login Server Error 1001
Is there only one way to login through eqemu?
[Registration Servers] { "eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997" "eqlogin2.eqemulator.net:5997" "eqlogin3.eqemulator.net:5997" } [Login Servers] { "eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997" "eqlogin2.eqemulator.net:5997" "eqlogin3.eqemulator.net:5997" } is this the only way? I cant connect through any ports above 1024 for the meanwhile because my university IT department is taking forever to fix the network. I know its a long-shot and it should work when they fix the campus network, but any thoughts or loop-holes would be appreciated. |
About the only way you could get arpund this is to set up a proxy server outside the affected network and connect through it.

lets say u got a proxy server... how would u set it up for general internet use and not just IE?

It wont be set up like that in your machine, it will be on the proxy server.. What you will do (in lamens terms, my apologies), is tell your proxy server that you want to use port 5997. Ok, now you will have to tell your proxy server that your computer will access this port using port 80 from your computer. This way the proxy server bypasses you accessing port 5997 directly, thereby going around your firewall.
This is just an example, dont use port 80 because then you wont be able to surf the net as it uses port 80. Your computer would, in reality, only access port 5997. |
