Becoming Uber in EQ Emu....

I have been playing on the green named server that says Adult oriented. Quite fun, but my lack of knowledge leads me to TEH SUCK.

You go get level 61, you raise your skills to 252, you attempt to remember decent equipment for your class. Then.....

What else can you do???

Some basic questions.

Run speed. J boots are slow, I see guys running at Mach 5. What items and how?

Hit points. I hear some guys claiming 6K hitpoints. I've bombed some dudes with Sunstrike or a couple of lures and not touched their hp. How?

I hear of guys claiming insane stats on items. Are they making items themselves or what?

Any help is appreciated.

basicaly

1) GM speed
2) Ariak DB with new ST loot is a good start
3) read previous sentence.

and this is still a beta 0.3.0 (will be beta till 1.0.0), so don't bother wanting to really play like in verant version, just stick on deccovering the zone you never been and try to make this project.

If i understand the goal of EQemu, we are not creating an EQ with verant view of it, we are creating some mods for EQ, like the mods there was for unreal...

I love the possiblities offered to us (first thing is to be GM and see the other side of the force...) and the possiblities of creating new encouter new quest new view of the game.
Malevolent have the good vision of this (thanks for all your ideas bro)

finaly thanks to all the developers, you have the good vision of what should be a game, that is too say FREE and FREE of becoming. keep the faith....

thanks

Thanks for the info. My questions were just how to get up to par, I'm a total newb to this. I'm surprised I made it in the game at all.

How can you change your run speed with out an item? Or is it GM only?

I guess its up to the server which DB they pick. I forget the name of the server I'm playing but it always seems to be up with the most people on it.

You are able to #setskill on the server I'm playing on, does this mean I have Level 20 priviliges? (Very priviliged user)

And does #castspell require you to have it summoned and mem'd or can you cast anyspell by simply typing in that command?

Sorry that I'm a newb, any info is appreciated.

.

Being level 61 you have these commands at your favour:

#zone somezone
#goto 100 100 100 (x y z loc)
#searchitem someitem
#summonitem itemid

You may want to do an #search Greaves of Desire and #summonitem them, they have bardspeed on them (kinda).

If you run your own server you can make yourself the ServerOP and therefore have all the commands at your favour. (Or if someone flag you a higher rank on some server)

About #castspell. If you have higher status, you can type #findspell Visions of Grandeur (for example), and read the ID to the left of the spellname, and then type #cast spellid. You do not need to have it memmed.

If you only have status of Level 61, you need a character that can cast any spell. From there you can type #searchitem Visions of Grandeur and #summonitem idofthespellname, mem it and cast on yourself.

I recommend a Reaper of the Dead for CHeals and couple Modulation Rod's to get mana back quick (If you dont have any high status)

Hope that helped !

Awesome, thanks.

If you're flagged high enough for #castspell, then forget the Greaves of Desire. :) They're a GM item anyway, you shouldn't have them!! :O

Whenever you zone, target yourself and type
#castspell 1212
#castspell 2079
#castspell 13

Insta-casters too. :)

If you don't have #castspell... hrm, ya, GM greaves and Reaper of the Dead are your best bet. :)

Type #help ingame to find out what priviliges you have. I think the #setskill command was messed up in 3.0 and anyone could use it...

To get up to speed, read the readme, and play in the game. As far as items, use #search to find items avaliable on that server.

just a thought. If you want to level....then don't "cheat" to get level 61...play the game how you would on EQlive. there is nothing stoping you from leveling up the normal way. Also I like to deck my chars out with gm items...why? because I was never able to get them :) I play a monk, all the GM monk items are located at 19929-19939 all of the GM items seem to be around these numbers so just keep summoning away. or if you have your own server set up or the database at least use the admin tool and search for any items you want.

Rhawn 04-17-2002 05:24 AM

You level the normal way but use GM items? How is that not technically cheating?

If wanted to play EQ Live, I have 3 accounts full of countless mind-numbing hours.

Thanks for most of the good answers....

Later on, I intend to make a full "Non-Insta-Uber" Database release.

#itemsearch/#summonitem will be GM+ commands.

The ability for a normal user to summon ANYTHING he wants defeats the purpose of the game. 99% of the time I actually played on pub. servers, people summon the best stuff avaible.

You guys * DO NOT HAVE TO * use itemsearch/summon if you want a fun game, but it's your choice.

BTW - my db has NTOV/VP/Kael/Dain/Vindi/Yeli/Tunare/Tormax/AoW/ST items added :o) Release as soon as I finish adding VP items (today)
