I need help here >< DB error

Hey. I just installed/compiled the newest EQEmu, and MySQL, but when I try to connect to my DB with MySQL-Fronter, it comes up with the error,
"SQL Execution Error #1250. Response from database; Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client."
As stated before, I'm not able to upgrade my DB-server anymore, so I hope you know what to do. I searched the forums, and found out that changing something with old passwords cache, but that didn't help me a tiny bit. Please help ;)

What version of SQL are you using?

I'm using MySQL 5.0 alpha. I know it's alpha, but I still can't see why it comes up with that problem.
