Tell me i'm not going crezzy...

I went to shawn's site.... and this is what I see:

If you do not know how to use every aspect of EQEmu and C++ programming you should NOT download this release.
This release includes ONLY the source code and no project files. You MUST copy your own *.sln/dsp and *.vcproj files from previous source releases as they are not included.

1. Make sure you have the latest EQLive spells_us.txt in your EQEmu directory when using this release. Failure to do so may result in spell corruption in game.

2. This release supports the latest EQLive patch as of 02/22/2004. Do not use any other patches before or after this date.

3. You MUST import Jan24_Update.sql AND update-feb-20.sql into your existing database. (Right click, save as).

4. NO SUPPORT WHAT SO EVER. If you do not know how to compile programs yourself or fix code, you have no reason to be using this.

Agree to these terms and continue to download 0.5.5-DR1 (link to .rar file containing sources)

Isnt there meant to be binaries there too? I cannot seem to find them anywhere... altho i see ppl talking about them... I've probably totally overlooked one simple link or post or something, I've tried my hardest to be thorough....

The binaries were removed as too many people were downloading them that didn't know what they were doing.

Either compile, or if you can't wait for binary release or play on 5.5-1 servers instead of your own.

Yeah he took them off because it seems that NOBODY seems to pay attention to the part that says NO SUPPORT WHATSOEVER.

Yes I did see that... just thought I'd check and make sure I wasnt missing anything. I'd rather ask and be sure than not ask be forever guessing.

See I bought Everquest: Lost Dugeons of Norrath... and wanted to play on LAN with some friends. So I set up an eqemu server. Using an un-updated client, i got "1017 [Error] Expecting OP_SendLoginInfo, got 269". OK, must need to update. Updated thru eqlive, try to join, got "1017 [Error] Expecting OP_SendLoginInfo, got 254"

This is going to be cause I updated on sunday hey? Just checking.
