ok heres what happening i go to log onto the servers and half of them are 1017 and the server i really want to play on is saying that

EqEmu: world is down

and i see that there are others on that server as well so its a tech problem im having i can log into like 3 or maybe 4 if im lucky i was wondering if anyone would know how i could fix this problem or be able to use the server i am hopeing to play on or what was going on with that server.

I'm getting this same error. Gone back and verified that I am registered, using correct login/password as the site. Still giving me a 1017 whenever I attempt to login.

Did you check to see what that error means in the guide? Click on the error guide link in my sig. It might help.

Yep, checked the other mentions of the 1017 error also. I'm beginning to think its a server error as I can log onto the test server (game boots me when I try to log in though) while the rest boot me back to the main login screen as soon as I select the server and click play.

I'm sure that you probably already checked on all this but I figure I should ask...... When did you last patch? What servers are you trying to get on? Have you tried to patch again? Do you have DX9 installed if you've patched since last month? Have you gotten on before? Are you on dial-up?

This is supposed to be fixed as of the 10th patch, but SOE had an emergency patch the 18th, so Im sure there ARE problems still with making their patch compatible.
