What do I need to get to start playing?
 

I cant' really understand alot from the website, what do I download to start playing? I downloaded everything I found, one is eqemlogin which has alot of files with it and the other is eqw which has some files with it. What one do I use to start playing on the free servers? Could some also link me to some easy to understand directions for setup, lol.

Well, in another post you mentioned that you havent bought the game... Thats the very first thing you have to do.. The rest is moot if you dont own everquest.

I'm getting it this weekend. I just wanted to know how to set it up so once I get it I can get it working fast. That would be much better then getting it , not getting it to work and getting myself pissed off. lol

you'll need eqemu 0.3.0 and MySQL you can find both at www.shownomercy.net if you have trouble installing head just browse the forum , almost all errors have solutions here

Yepper, buy the game first. There's no reason to get ahead of yourself. That gives you plenty of time to search the boards, find the emu files and READ the readme.

If you own the game, then you can easily patch to the newest version, edit the eqhost.txt file and play on the emu servers without installing anything.

Patience is a virtue (that most of us don't have time for)! :)

Just to clarify...

You don't need to download any of the EQEmu files. You only need to edit your eqhost.txt
