1017 problemo, yet again.
I just upgraded to 5.5-DR1, re-setup the whole thing. I'm mean, started from scratch. I have other people logging onto my server, no problem, and i can see they're creating characters, but I myself still have a problem logging onto the server.
I have the most recent patch as of the 16th or march. I'm running win xp, i have a d-link di-804hv router. my computer is in the dmz (and now that i've posted that, i'm sure i'm gonna get hacked). I have the 0.5.5-DR1 server, using minilogin, and the MW055-alpha-02.sql database. I'm going to try another database, to see if that's the prob. here's what my prompt says when i try to log on: 311890 New client ip: *my ip address* port: 1046 Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49945: *mylogin* Client Disconnected Removing Client from ip: *my ip address* port:1046 Zoneserver SetZone: *my ip address*:7999 <0> Zoneserver SetZone: *my ip address*:7999 <0> it does that message twice when i try to log on. And i guess it's doing the same thing when other people connect to my server now that i look at it. It just lets them connect, create characters, and then it boots them. Am i missing a program? Anyone know what i can do? |

You said you were using minilogin? It looks as though your trying to login onto the EQEmu login server.
|
what can i do to change that? is that in the loginserver.ini file? probably the loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemulator.net part... shoot...
|
Yes, change the loginserver to localhost or 127.0.0.1 instead of eqlogin1.eqemulator.net
|
hey guys, thanks for all the help. I got the server to work, at least i created a character and ran around for a few minutes.
Thanks again, you guys rock. |
Glad to hear it... Have fun!!!

Ok forget my last post, i think i need to use minilogin and so far i havent got it to allow my other computer to connect, my miniloginaccounts.ini looks like this:

Server mode: Standalone LoginServer listening on port: 5999 When my other computer trys to connect to my server i get: 48860 New client from isp: 192.168.0.253 port 3030 Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Logged in: FirstLogin LS#49408: <name> Client Disconnected Removing client from ip:192.168.0.253 port 3030 I have been getting that same problem and my other computer keeps getting 1017, and yes it is same version of eq as on this computer and i didnt update on 3/23/04. I use windowsxp and i did turn off firewall protection too. Additional information- LoginServer.ini: [LoginServer] loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemulator.net loginport=5997 worldname=<Server name here> worldaddress=<my ip address> locked=false [WorldServer] Defaultstatus=0 Unavailzone= [LoginConfig] ServerMode=Standalone ServerPort=5999 UplinkAddress= UplinkPort= UplinkAccount= UplinkPassword= db.ini: [Database] host=localhost user=<user> password=<pw> database=eq compression=off Can anyone help me? Code:
loginserver=localhost |
check the consistency with the ports your loginserver is listening to, and what your loginserver.ini is configured to look for.
Your server is listening on port 5999, and your loginserver.ini is configured to call to port 5997. That was the same problem i was having. |
This is his loginserver:

depending on what type of network setting he has for his localhost. Mine was set to 127.0.0.1... it wasn't my internal ip, and that's where most of my problems were coming from. That, and the port settings.
