wtf is witht the freezing zoneing crap
 

ok i have a nice computer. im pretty sure i meet all the requirements...but why the hell is it that EVERYtime i zone it acts like its freeez's and will never zone completely...i will just be stuck on the zoneing screen forever and i have to turn my computer off by the djsaofisnj button everytime i zone

How long are you waiting before turning your computer off?

I had the same problem on a couple of servers and I finally decided to wait it out. . . While I never actually made it to the other zone, it did pop me back to the starting point of the zone I was in (granted, I had to wait a LONG time). I think it has something to do with the Zone.exe servers on the server computer. Maybe there weren't any available to start up the zone.

I moved to another server and have been able to zone fine ever since.

In my experience, some 5.5DR1 builds were plagued with this problem, but the final release of 5.5 seems to have eliminated the hang-while-zoning issue. YMMV. Try some servers running 5.5 (not 5.5DR1) and see if you have the same problem.

I had the sae problem on Eqlive.

Make sure ur datarate.txt file in your eq directory says 8.0

If it is not put it there

or try changin it a bit to fit ur comp it may help
