ok im frustrated, and i need some help
 

ok. i patched before i knew i wasnt supposed too. i suck. anyway, what i need to know is if there is any server that is working yet. i know the ppl who run the servers are doing it on thier spare time so i am not trying to be an @@@ but i would just like to know if anyone who is using windows xp, ran the patch, and can play normaly anyway is on any server currently running.

oh and one more thing, what is the diff. between legit, non-legit, custom, and all simi xxxxxxxxxx servers?

As for when any server will be running a fixed version, I guess best thing to do is login to EQ from time to time. Even though you can't enter the world as a character, you can at least get to the server select. Watch the list of world servers, most of them have version numbers of what release they're running by them. Keep an eye out for when one of them starts running a new version.

The Legit servers mean you get your levels and gear the old fashioned way -- no insta-level commands, no summoning gear out of thin air.
Non-legit means you have some GM-level commands available to you, so you might be able to raise your level up instantly, might be able to summon items, might be able to give a command and instantly port to any zone, and so on.

Theres already quite a few servers running 5.6. I don't think they've finished 5.6 yet but it seems that it may be stable enough for you to log in to if you've patched recenty. Give them a try.
