Question.

Hey guys, ever since SOE put out the patch that "upgraded" the graphic engine, i can no longer play live eq. So did you guys upgrade the engine with them? So do you think i could play Emulator with out problems?

You can play as long as you patch to Live annd have Directx 9 and play on 5.6 servers.

So that means you guys DID upgrade the graphic engine just like SOE?

The graphics 'engine' is in Sony's EQ client, not the server.

If you have problems running the client on live, you will on Emu if you want to run on a current (5.5 or 5.6) server. Although, I don't believe the client is finished being tweaked as there are still many problems. As an example, I have 3 machines that run EQ here. My GeForce 4 system has no problem, the GeForce 2 machine can actually still run it with Luclin textures off, and guess what? My brand new Radeon 9800 is almost unplayable in some zones. Severe lag, sky and water texture problems, etc. Its my understanding that Radeons have some problems with DX9, but I figure the card runs Galaxies nearly perfectly, it should be able to run EQ eventually. My point is sit tight, especially if you own a Radeon it may work soon :)
