Real trubble with minilogin

me and a friend are trying to get mini login to work over the network.

there are very few resources that deal with exactly how to add more than one account ( that ive been able to find anyway  )

what ive done is added into the database 3 accounts

eqemu stats 200
acc1 stats 200
acc2 stats 0

my miniloginaccounts.ini looks like this :
Code:

localhost eqemu eqemu[space]
and yes - i didnt actually write [space] i wrote in 'a space' - but i did is the point lol...

well i log in and it works fine.

i added
Code:

localhost eqemu eqemu[space]
10.3.82.3 acc1 eqemu[space]

which is my friends ip on the network, but when he loggs in it shows my chars, ive even tried changing the ini file as follows

Code:

localhost acc2 eqemu[space]
Code:

localhost acc1 eqemu[space]
but they both show me the same characters when i log in.

and hence my friend cant log in at the same time as me - because he getts an error.

any help would be appreciated.
:)

Make multiple lines in the miniloginaccounts.ini file, one for each of you. The first field (IP Address) must be the IP address of the machine they'll be logging on from. Second field, the account name they'll be using, and third field the password they'll be using.

And don't forget the space at the end of each line :P

If Minilogin can't find an exact IP/user/password match, it just has them using the EQEmu account, which explains why they'll be seeing your characters.

I thought MiniLogin only supports up to 8 people (8 character slots, one account)?

nope :)

sounds hopfull.

i tried with different usernames / passwords but i always get logged intot eh same account

im going to try and put 3 lines in it

192.168.0.1 acc1 passwd
127.0.0.1 acc1 passwd
localhost acc1 passwd

and see if i can log into an account other than eqemu eqemu...

semi good news;

it matched 127.0.0.1 to Acc1 - but im getting 1017's now - im going to check user pass and case. but thats all i can think of atm

ok made account and password lowercase and removed an underscore.

all 3 accounts have similar database records.

only difference is there is 2 serverops and one standard
and they have dfferent user names and passwords.

eqemu logs in fine, but the other two dont :x get 1017's :(

What matters is the address you log from.

In this case, most prolly 192.168.0.1 == 127.0.0.1 == localhost, so whatever you put you get match from first line.

Minilogin : don't use localhost or 127.0.0.1 unless you want to play alone.

ok - its odd... it will only allow me to enter the game using eqemu as the username and password, even tho i have entered 3 differnet accounts.

and eqemu is not the first in the database either.... im stumped now

WARR10R 04-21-2004 10:14 AM

Just thought have you added a second account to world?

sneakypete 04-21-2004 10:18 AM

yeah got three accounts

id ~ name ~ password ~ status

1 ~ acc1 ~ lo ~ 200
2 ~ acc2 ~ man ~ 0
3 ~ eqemu ~ eqemu ~ 200

and only eqemu will not give the 1017 error :(

wait a min - to world? i added them to the database -

smogo 04-21-2004 10:27 AM

use longer identifiers. You'll get 1017 if pass is less than 4 chars, maybe so if login is less than 4

sneakypete 04-21-2004 10:38 AM

no used longer ones and it still sent back 1017 - is there a max size as well?

sneakypete 04-21-2004 10:48 AM

well yes there is =/

it works now - both accounts will log in and both have seperate chars.

best length is between 4 and 7 it seems

thanks for the quick replies all.
