Login trouble

I just created an account today and I am able to get to the server list and get to the character creation screen. After creating the character, and attempting to "enter the world" it does not work, it simply places me back at the server list screen again.

How do I get this to work?

First of all wrong forum buddy, this belongs in general support.

To fix this problem you need to patch to live.

driaknon 04-25-2004 05:55 AM

actually

actually even if he patches to live it wont work the 4/21/04 patch broke the emu again.. :(

Latest 5.7DR1 code is compatible with live. There are a few servers running that code now.

Richardo 04-25-2004 07:34 AM

Yep, my server LoTR is compatible with it now :)

driaknon 04-25-2004 07:58 AM

Sorry about posting on the wrong forum, in the future i'll be more careful. While it's still here, though, would you mind sharing with me how I would go about patching to live? I remember doing it before, but I have forgotten (obviously).

Thanks for your time and help.

Just run everquest.exe from your EQ directory. Then change your eqhost.txt back afterwards to play on EQEmu servers.

eve still with the 5.7 DR 1 servers peopel who patched on the 21st still cant get passed char select goes to loading screen music on for about 5 seconds then boom to server select every time reguardless of what server you choose each one seems to do it and sinse the binaries are kind of useless to us who dont have MSVS6++ or MSVS.net were basically sol untill the devs can find the time to release 5.7 and i dont see that happening for a couple more days =/

My server (Benden Weyr Non Legit) is running the latest code that is compatible with live, as is Scorpius2K and at least one other that I don't remember the name of. Did you try those ?

driaknon 04-25-2004 10:01 AM

i belive i tried scorpious and got what ive been getting sinse i patched on the 21st (not enough hard drive space to have 2 seperate EQ's)

Yoshiro 04-25-2004 10:30 AM

I can get into some, but the one I want to get into and the populated one Guild Wars boots be back to log in

Shawn319 04-25-2004 10:32 AM

There are multiple versions of 0.5.7-DR1 and only the latest works with the live patch.

Vatcher 04-25-2004 11:52 AM

so your saying I will be without evercrack for several days? I don't know if I can take that. :)

RoseR 04-25-2004 08:41 PM

I'll try but ...

Hi ...
Derision I'll try to play in the Scorpius2K server but i can't, the only server avalaible for me is the tester (two days ago it wans't any avalaible for me) ... I like to play also in Scorpious, but i crash when i log in without any message, like the most of people that have update files, ... so any idea? maybe i could try to play in your server, but sure that i won't have luck :( ... so my question is ... when eqemu is fixed again will the other servers also fixed?
Thx ...
