Boot to server select screen
 

Like many people on emu I have been haveing trouble with this...first off yes everything on my computer is current except I am running win 98. all drivers are updated to current and all updates are patched to apr 14 eq live. (until they release a fix to 5.7 for those of us who no nothing about coding I am not patching) so I log into my bud's server who is still running 5.6, I get to character select screen select what I want and anywhere from 10secs to 1 min later its says that infamous line of "YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED" always nice to see. Heres where I have the problem. On the opposite side (my friends server) it says I am logged in so whats the deal I ask....anyone have any clue as to why it does this..

If your being kicked out of the chara screen when u hit enter world its because you patched up to live. Your friends 5.6 server isent compatiable with your LIVE version. You need to wait for your fried to upgrade his server to 5.7DR2. Or play on a differtn server thats 5.7DR2

Ok, I can understand that but here is my what I am not understanding. I took my backup dierectory that hasn't been updated since the 14th, I copied over all the files they had changed in the latest patch. so that my current EQ would be back to the 14th....now that should drop it back to where I can play on a 5.6 server........or is there some embedded code somewhere I have no clue of that will still break it

Hurry and get fixed Jasdar! We miss you. Hehe...

It sounds like there's another issue there if you have the backups. I'll check my current machine that I play on and get you a list of files to check the dates on and we'll see if we can come up with a solution for you.
