Zone Files?

I am trying to create a server to play on EMU with. With a little work I have been able to get it going (well sorta). I got my server up and running or so i thought, then I tried to load the game but it had kicked me out of my OWN server after character select. So I have never actually made it into the game, i am wondering if i am missing some sort of file? So i tried to make the game on LaN (using the PublicLogin thing), but i still ran into the same problem, i am unable to get past character select screen. So I had then tried to download the EmuLoaderSource.zip, but the file is not working it is corrupt. So if this is the file that I am missing to play EMU then someone please tell me where I can get a working one or if I am just missing something really small. But I am very sure that I have everything that I could possibly need and set up correctly.

The only files you NEED to run a server are the mysql install files, and the latest EQEmu download. The readme walks you throught the entire process pretty well. Don't skip stuff because you assume you know what it is saying.

After reading through it again and still having problems, post what your running, the screens with the errors, and your 3 config files (db.ini, loginserver.ini and boot5zones*.bat) I also recomend starting with the minilogin, and working up from there.

Little help please

Ok, last time I made the post I was a little tired, I guess it is me who is doing something wrong because I tried making the server on another computer I have, and ive run into almost the same problem. But this time I cant even get into character select screen. So I will give you the three info files and I will take any help that anyone has to give me.

Personally everything looks ok, and I did EVERYTHING that the "readme" had told me to do.

Pre-Thanks to anyone that is able to help me out there

Try changing:
account=
password=

to:
## account=
## password=

I'm not sure if this will do anything, so let me know.
And your eqhost.txt file should be pointing to eqlogin.eqemu.net if it isn't.

cut and paste any errors from world or the zone windows.

Note for later: I guess you only want to run the server for your own network at home? 192.168.x.x will only allow the computers on your local network, but everyone will see it listed on the eqlogin.eqemu.net login server. Once you have it working in this setup, give the public login a shot. That way people don't try to login to a server that is unreachable :)

Error:1017

Ok,

I tried to login to my server and it gave me the poor excuse of

"Error:1017 Cannot login to the EverQuest Server
You may need to re-run the Update Patch. Repeatedly seeing this message indicates a loss of connectivity to the Patch Server. This is usually temporary"

I get this on both of my computers so I must have messed up somewhere, BUT I have no idea where or how.

If you need any more information to help aide me in getting my server, feel free to ask.

Thanks again for all your help

I never said anywhere in the readme that 192* is your "real IP"

Quote:

worldaddress=192.168.0.185

start zone9x . 192.168.0.185 7995 127.0.0.1
try using your real IP and trying again..
