Working on New EQEmu Server
 

Ok, beginning next week I'll be working on a new server, hoping the 5.7 compiled will be out by then, but I highly doubt it, so it'll most likely end up being a 5.6 server, it's going to be highly customized, characters and spells up to lvl 100, custom mobs, items, quests, and I plan to customize much more, race class combo's if possible, I WANT A GNOME MONK, umm, you didn't see that, anyways, I'll probably be posting here quite often asking for assistance, so this is just a forewarning, I'll be needing a lot of help, and will probably be posting redundant questions because I'm going to try and learn some C++ so I can get 5.7 DR-3 working and all. Okay, I'm done for now, thanks in advance for any help.

Wheres PvP on that list? It's the only fun thing for me.

Gnomes need to be puntable!

Squeeze and stirr and hack and smash and boil down and burn and freeze and dice and mash and disjunct and skin and hang 'em high, 'em gnomes.

Heres an idea:

Racial PVP Server from level 1

Only three races allowed - Human, Barbarian and Half-Elf

Three starting zones,
Humans - Qeynos
Half-Elves - Surefall Glade
Barbarians - Halas

Only zones available would be Halas, Everfrost Peaks, Blackburrow, Qeynos Hills, Surefall Glade, South Qeynos, North Qeynos.

Level cap would be level 40.

Players gain PvE points for killing mobs. They can buy items with these points.

Players gain PvP points for killing players. They can place guards around or in their town.

All items would be "No Drop" so there would be no transferring.

Players cannot bind themselves in enemy territory.

Zone camping is not allowed.
Bind camping is not allowed.
Training mobs is allowed.

I'd kill for a server like this.

That sounds really cool, just add in that when you die you revert back to level 1 in that and I'd so play on that server :wink:

I live for the day someone makes a discord copy server with a small amount of zones for mass n00b pvpage!(i even made a post with details)

Yep, I agree. My ideas for a cool server I stated in the post "PvP server ideas"(yea original I know). But yeah....I wish someone would make a hardcore server. It would get popular unless people get frustrated with it like they did on discord :roll:

If players get frustrated on discord, they will be too on an EQEmu discord like server.
You to me, PvP is fun when doing in a smart way, but why log on a server and get your ass smaked by a lvl40 who like mental masturbation and has a big ego !?

Hence the aspect of hardcore, I doubt anyone would get 40...If an emu server did Discord like on live, anyways. Highest on live was 34 after a month of play, then I think they died anyways, and the winners of the contest were like level 20s...put a newb limit on pvping, like not being pvp enabled until level 6, and a point restriction to like within 5 levels....anyways you're not thinking outside the box with comments like that :?

Where did he say they wouldn't get frustrated on a hardcore server..? He was suggesting it could happen. Maybe you should look over his post before replying to it.

I was simply giving a suggestion. If someone were to decide to put it onto their server, I'm sure they'd have a lot more balances put into the server. For example, resets.

Just going by my rules.. If someone sees a higher level charecter, players will group up and try to kill them. It's not as easy as it sounds to get to level 40 in those zones while having other players chase after you and having the risk of mobs killing you.

Besides, I was kinda thinking of having it sortof like Guildwars, where they can take over another base, killing off that race, and once one race controls all three points, all charecters would reset. It's pretty simple and not too unbalanced, really.

Disregarding all the EVIL comments against the gnomes, I will take to mind the PvP server idea. I played on VZ on EQLive, so I do enjoy a good PvP, however, in order to have level resets, PvP, PvE points, PvP points, merchants where points can be spent, and lvl restrictions on PvP (I'm thinking either 5 or 10 lvl range), I will be needing a LOT more help once I get started, oh and, I...I...I really can't give gnomes the flying kick animation :? NOR can I make a slow and painful death for gnomes....maybe for elves.. :shock: ... If I do get this server running well, and people enjoy it, I will make it a dedicated server later on this summer (gonna have to get a job, bleh) and work hard on keeping it up to date. As I have stated, I will really need some help, so if you want this server to work, be prepared to help :wink: . Seems some people might actually be interested in this server. Thanks for the support :twisted:
