Characters don't appear?
 

So I'm trying to get my own server set up, but I am encountering yet another problem. My server shows up on the server selection, and I can get into the character creation screen, but when I finish creating my character, it doesn't appear on the select list. Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

Your EQ client and the server you are trying to run are not compatible. Assuming that you are patched just prior to the 18th, and you can't compile the source yourself, Richardo posted a link to some 5.7DR3 binaries at:

Cool, I tried using those binaries, but the "zones" don't fully load. I'll post what happens in a second.

Alright, when I load World.exe and than Boot5Zones.bat, this is what comes up on each zone:

That's all that happens. Am I not waiting long enough or something?

Alright, Zones finally loaded after I waited about 10 minutes. I was able to log on to the server, create a character, and what not. The only problem now is there is no items. I looked into the Zones, and noticed this:


Any ideas? Everything else loaded fine.

Richardo's binaries are from the 20th May CVS dump I think, I compiled some from the 16th which worked for me:

I was getting this, too.

All I did was get the latest MW DB off of projecteq.net.

DL, unzip, source, and run your server.
