1017 strike back :s
 

first of all: Hi ^^

Well i have a 1017 error i can't get rid
i log in and get to the server list without any probs and after 2 solutions:
-i get a 1017 even before loading
-i get the 1017 after the load

here is what i have
Win Xp (yes i turned off my winxp firewall)
Eq+ Kunark+ Velious (don't ask me why i play with a so old stuff , i had it for free a couple of days ago, somone in my family thinked it was a good gift idea ..... :roll: )
i'm patched with the latest patch (i tried without patching at all , but can't even log in) so the version is patched as possible for 30th may 04

i tried with the followings eqhost.txt

with those 2 i have the probs listed upper

can't even login (it ask me to verify my eqhost.txt :p )

I tried with every servers (DR3 and 4)

As said in this guid (http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9649) i should modify DataRate.txt , but there is not any file of this name, should i create it ?

Never played EQ, sound cool, but sound like EQ don't want me to play it :roll:



Hope my prob got a solution ^^

i tried to make like said here http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15175 but can't even login (it ask me to check if i have an eqhost , error 1010 )

since you are patched to live this HAS to be your eqhost.txt
make sure there are no extra spaces and make sure it is a "read only" file.

i tried (just a couple of mins before your post) and i still get a 1010 error asking me if i have an eqhost.txt in my eq folder

btw i seen in another post someone talking about eqw, what it is ? can it help me ? where can i get it ? :p

edit: found and tried eqw , since that's only a window tool , it don't help me xD
