Please help me =\

I've followed every tutorial for making a server and playing it on my computer but none have been successful. Can someone explain everything I need and which tutorial works and whatnot and I'll re-follow it very carefully? I just want to be able to host and play on my computer, even by myself. Please help me do this. =) Thanks in advance. :?

The best newbie guide by far to set up a server is Jezebels (sp?).

If you encounter a problem , reply here. Don't just say "it didn't work" , paste you error , db.ini , loginserver.ini , etc. etc.

Good luck!

db.ini
[Database]
host=localhost
user=Merq
password=password
database=eq
compression=off

loginserver.ini
[LoginServer]
loginserver=localhost
loginport=5999
worldname=My wonderful world
worldaddress=192.168.1.100
locked=false
account=eqemu
password=eqemu

[WorldServer]
Defaultstatus=0
Unavailzone=

[LoginConfig]
ServerMode=Standalone
ServerPort=5999
UplinkAddress=
UplinkPort=
UplinkAccount=
UplinkPassword=

[ChatChannelServer]

miniloginaccounts.ini
localhost eqemu eqemu (yes there's a space)

Everything booted and seemed to be listening fine, but when I got into EQ and tried logging in, it said "Connecting to server, please wait..." and then said please check your internet. Well the internet is on, so I need to find out why it can't connect to my own computer.

eqhost.ini
[LoginServer]
Host=localhost:5999

Search Minilogin

Alot needs to be changed for minilogin , including your eqhost.txt

In fact I thought minilogin was broken ? Check the news too - or wait for someone with a better idea to reply :wink:

Where can I get the older version of eqmain.dll then?

Thanks.

You can get an older version of EQMain.dll anywhere but here.
